Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …
10 reasons the Commanders will be a dumpster fire this season – PhillyVoice
1) Regression is coming. The Commanders won four games in 2023. In 2024, they won 12. That was the biggest win total improvement in the NFL last season. It tied for the 9th best improvement since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978. Here’s a look at all the teams since 1978 that have had improvements of eight or more wins in a season, and then what those teams did the year after their big improvements. […] Only the 1996-1998 Jets had an improvement once again after their initial breakout season. On average, the above teams experienced a decrease of 3.9 wins the following season. And let’s be real about those 12 regular season wins last season, Commanders fans. A lot of those were lucky. I mean, we can all admit that, right? […] Every team has some luck go its way during the course of a season, but that’s like a decade’s worth of lucky wins in one season. Oh, and they were also the fifth-healthiest team in the NFL in 2024. The Commanders’ win total over-under this season is 9.5. Pound the under.
Eagles schedule preview: Kansas City Chiefs – BGN
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have lost two Super Bowls. In both, Mahomes was under pressure all game. After their loss to the Bucs, the Chiefs replaced every starter on their offensive line. After their loss to the Eagles, they dusted off the same playbook and again made significant changes to their OL. The Chiefs acquired two OTs this offseason, but both are big question marks. First, they signed Jaylon Moore, who in four seasons with the 49ers started 12 games as a swing tackle. The 49ers tackle situation is also less than spectacular, though on the right side, in Kansas City he’ll compete for the left tackle starting job. Moore was one of the first free agent signings announced, and only signed to a two year deal, from a team with their own OL problems. What exactly was the rush to sign him?
Rookie Q&A: 3 questions with Andrew Mukuba – PE.com
3. For the fans who might not know a lot about you, what can you say about what they can expect to see? Mukuba: “There are guys like Budda Baker (Cardinals) and Brian Branch (Lions) who are similar in size to me and they have been guys I’ve kind of patterned myself after. I’m going to be aggressive and smart and play with everything I have. All my heart. I have a lot of energy and always have had energy and so for me to go out on the field and have fun, it’s kind of like being in the park with your friends playing ball and being physical and helping my team win. That’s all that matters – helping the Eagles win. I want to do my part, perfect my role, and enjoy everything about being a Philadelphia Eagle.”
Dallas Goedert: Excited about ways Kevin Patullo sees to get me the ball – PFT
“I’m really excited for Kevin,” Goedert said on ESPN’s NFL Live. “He’s been with us since Sirianni got here. He’s waited his turn to get this opportunity. Throughout OTAs, I’ve really loved what he’s doing with the offense. Little changes here and there and I’m really excited for the opportunity just to — with the connection I grew with him the last four years. What he sees in me in different ways that he’s going to get me the ball I’m really excited for.”
Eagles 2025 most important list: Moro Ojomo – NBCSP
A former seventh-round pick, defensive tackle Moro Ojomo is in line for a much bigger role in 2025. Ojomo, 23, was taken with the No. 249 overall pick back in 2023 and definitely improved year-over-year. As a rookie, Ojomo played in just eight games and had just three combined tackles on defense on just 68 defensive snaps. But during the Super Bowl season, Ojomo played in every game and totaled 388 snaps — the same exact amount as former No. 13 overall pick Jordan Davis. And he got better as the year went on. In the playoffs, Ojomo played the third-most snaps of the Eagles’ defensive tackles behind just Jalen Carter and Milton Williams. In the divisional round against the Rams, Ojomo picked up the first sack in his career.
Eagles offensive lineman Kendall Lamm says viral quote ripping the Dolphins and praising his new team isn’t real – Inquirer
New Eagles offensive tackle Kendall Lamm went viral over the weekend for a quote in which he appeared to be ripping his old team, the Miami Dolphins, for its lack of professionalism compared to the Eagles. The only problem? The quote was made up, according to Lamm. “One, I don’t remember talking to any reporter about anything that we really dealt with with Miami and the Dolphins,” Lamm said in a video posted on Instagram. “Two, I was never raised that way to sit there and comment on certain things as far as culture and everything else within the locker room. Three, I have no animosity or no ill will or bad intentions toward Miami or anybody down there whatsoever. I enjoyed my time in Miami and it’ll be near and dear to me forever. “When it comes to this article I’m being sent, unless I just completely forgot doing this, it must have been misconstrued or taken out of context, because I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone in Miami.”
NFL 2025 offseason winners, losers: Eagles still soaring; will Aaron Rodgers help Steelers? – The Athletic
WINNERS: Philadelphia Eagles. The reigning Super Bowl champions made a series of moves to reward and keep their core intact. They gave Saquon Barkley an extension and also took care of center Cam Jurgens and inside linebacker Zack Baun. GM Howie Roseman also added important contributors like pass rusher Azeez Ojulari and running back A.J. Dillon while putting together what looks like yet another smart draft. But the biggest win came at the league meetings, where opponents of the Eagles’ signature tush push failed to muster enough support to outlaw the near-automatic short-yardage play. Look for quarterback Jalen Hurts to extend his streak of double-digit touchdown runs and 50-plus first-down carries to a fifth season.
Top five NFL draft values of the millennium at OL: Jason Kelce massive steal for Eagles – NFL.com
Jason’s brother, Travis, rightfully earned his spot on the best draft value list at tight end, and Jason can easily claim the top spot for the offensive linemen. Quite the family legacy for the duo that — even after Jason’s retirement — keeps on cranking out the hits with the Kelces’ popular podcast, New Heights. The Eagles took a chance on the undersized Kelce late in the 2011 draft, the team’s eighth selection that year. In fact, he was their third OL pick in 2011. First-rounder Danny Watkins was only in the league for a few seasons, with fifth-rounder Julian Vandervelde sticking around a little longer than Watkins did. But Kelce planted a flag in the middle of the Philly offensive line as a 16-game rookie starter and held that role for 13 years. One of the most decorated blockers of his generation, Kelce used his IQ, quickness and technique to earn seven Pro Bowl nods and six first-team All-Pro honors. He led the way to the Eagles’ first championship with the rousing victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII. He would have been a candidate for this list as a second- or third-round pick, but achieving all of this as a late sixth-rounder puts him on a different tier.
An Eagles legend is once again bartending for charity at the Jersey Shore – NJ.com
Retired NFL star Jason Kelce will bartend at the Jersey Shore once again this week for an annual autism fundraiser. The Super Bowl LII winner will be behind the bar Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ocean Drive Bar & Restaurant in Sea Isle City for the fifth annual Team 62 at The Ocean Drive.
We now know the structure of Jeremy Reaves’ contract extension with the Commanders – Hogs Haven
To summarize, then, with the extension, Jeremy Reaves gets the benefit of increased overall cash in 2025, with a lot of it hitting his account prior to the start of the season. He also has over $1m in guaranteed salary for 2026, his age 30 season. The Commanders, in return, can count on one of their on-field and locker room leaders for two more seasons — a great return on investment for the 2018 undrafted free agent and the three coaching staffs and two front offices that have believed in him. [BLG Note: Former Eagles UDFA continues to find security in Washington.]
Why 2025 could be Trevon Diggs’ last with the Dallas Cowboys – Blogging The Boys
Unfortunately, the past two years haven’t been kind to Diggs. He has sustained back-to-back season-ending injuries to his left knee and has looked far removed from being the two-time Pro Bowler (2021, 2022) and First-Team All-Pro (2021) he was pre-injury. His injuries and regression could lead to the Cowboys wanting to get out of his contract. If that is true, then the Cowboys can get out of his contract after the completion of the 2025 NFL season. According to Spotrac, if they cut him in the offseason they save more than $12.5 million and would carry a dead cap hit of just under $6 million in 2026. They could also designate him a post-June 1 release, saving $15.5 million and can spread the dead cap over the 2026 and 2027 seasons at a little under $3 million per year.
New York Giants hidden gems: 3 Secret Superstars on the 2025 roster – Big Blue View
Underrated free-agent signing: DL Chauncey Golston. The Giants did add two highly valuable free agents to their secondary in former New Orleans Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo, and ex-Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland. But neither of those guys are Secret Superstars, and I’m assuming that fans of the team already know how much they can improve a pass defense that ranked 30th in DVOA last season. Goodness knows the team has allocated more than enough resources to the edge pressure group, but as much as we’ll all be talking about Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and that Abdul Carter guy as the preseason progresses and when the regular season comes along, the addition of former Dallas Cowboys pass disruptor Chauncey Golston could add a a little spice and a lot of glue to a defensive line rotation that’s already overstuffed from a talent perspective.
This is the year for Josh Allen and the Bills to win their first Super Bowl – SB Nation
Which franchise do you LEAST want to see win a Super Bowl in 2025? RJ: The Philadelphia Eagles are literally reigning Super Bowl Champions so I feel like I have already lived out my nightmare. Nothing else can hurt me. I am the resident Dallas Cowboys person around here, by the way. The Washington Commanders would check that chalk box so I suppose that is my answer. But it feels so boring. I don’t particularly hate any non-NFC East teams, but I do love reminding San Francisco 49ers fans that despite their success – they have had plenty – their Super Bowl drought is still longer than the Cowboys’. SF it is!
