The Rams have the sixth best odds to win the Super Bowl

The Los Angeles Rams have retooled after winning the NFC West last year, which has put them in the conversation as a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2025. First Things First’s, Nick Wright believes the Rams are primed to make a run this season, while others on the show aren’t completely bought in.

“I’m staring at them as an NFC pick again. I like their offseason, a little last ride for ‘staffordish.’ I think McVay is, with respect to Nick Sirriani, I think he’s the best coach in the NFC. I am buying them absolutely as very legitimate Super Bowl contenders,” explained Wright.

LA currently has the sixth best odds to win Super Bowl LX according to Fanduel Sportsbook but at one point was as low as 10th and ranked behind the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders. That gives them the third best odds (+1700) in the NFC behind the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. The argument could be made that they deserve to be above the Lions (+1000) who should take a step back after losing both of their coordinators to head coaching positions this year.

Wright’s co-host, Chris Broussard, was less bullish on the Rams returning to the Super Bowl.

“I have them as secondary contenders,” Broussard explained, “and really only because I think the NFC is full of contenders… I do think on paper Philly looks like the best team, clearly, but Detroit, Washington, Green Bay [Packers], San Francisco [49ers]. I put the Rams in the back tier of that group.”

While Broussard may have acknowledged the Rams as contenders, putting them behind even the 49ers is a reach. The Rams had one of the most successful offseasons after finding a way to keep Stafford on the team while pairing Davante Adams with Puca Nakua. They also beefed up the defensive line with Poona Ford which should help with stopping opponents from running all over them.

Truth be told, all of these arguments are way-too-early with no evidence other than on what’s paper to base them on. However, Sean McVay has proven time and time again that he is one of the best in the business. Low expectations or Super Bowl aspirations, Les Snead and McVay have put together a team they believe will give Stafford his best shot at winning his second Lombardi Trophy.

And if there is a chance to add more talent to the roster to get them closer to the promised lands, Snead has an extra first round draft pick to play with in 2025.
