Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 6/21/25

There are rumors that the Los Angeles Rams could add Jalen Ramsey, but there is also a potential chance that the Los Angeles Rams roll with who they have, and are fine with it. I am excited for the potential of this season for the Rams, but in a passing league the secondary matters a lot, so hopefully the Rams know what they are doing on that front.

It’s Saturday, my hope is you had a great Friday. Please comment on whatever you want and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

Cornerback Contentment: Why Rams Aren’t Desperate to Add to Position (si.com)

“But I do think this is also a larger philosophical thing for the Rams, with much of their recent focus on building up the offensive skill spots and defensive front—areas they believe are truly impactful on wins and losses. I heard someone say that in today’s NFL, corners are more speed bumps than stop signs, and I think that might be how L.A. has come to view the position. Or at least that’s how it looks.”

How it looks is likely the reason Jalen Ramsey isn’t back on the Rams’ roster. Head coach Sean McVay said this week at the team’s Maui minicamp that acquiring Ramsey in a trade from Miami has encountered its own brand of speedbumps.”

Did the Rams Attempt to Trade For the Wrong Receiver? (si.com)

“With all due respect to the current Packers’ receiving corps, no one truly stepped up to replace Davante Adams’ production, leaving a massive target share potentially available for Golden to exploit,” wrote Rang. The fastest offensive player at this year’s combine, Golden has the 4.29-second speed to take full advantage of Jordan Love’s big arm and defenses crowding the line of scrimmage to slow Josh Jacobs.”

I think Rang is onto something. While Luther Burden III remained the receiver I wanted the Rams to acquire, Golden was my WR1 entering the draft as he possesses several All-Pro potential traits while being a force for Texas.”

Rookie TE Terrance Ferguson compared to former Rams star (sports.yahoo/ramswire)

“The second-round rookie was drafted higher than any other tight end on the Los Angeles Rams, and FOX Sports NFL Draft analyst Rob Rang compared him to another great Rams tight end not named Tyler Higbee — Ernie Conwell.

“… Ferguson would go a long way in legitimizing the 46th overall selection by pushing him for playing time as a rookie,” Rang wrote. “Conwell offered similarly sure hands down the seam and was a better blocker. The Rams have never had a tight end voted to the Pro Bowl, but Ferguson flashes that kind of upside.”
