Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll has seen immense growth for DJ Glaze during OTAs

The Las Vegas Raiders‘ offensive line had an up-and-down season in 2024 with a young group. One of the young players was DJ Glaze, drafted in the third round out of Maryland. Glaze got a chance to start 15 games after injuries allowed him to see the field early last year.

There were rumors of the Raiders drafting a tackle early, right up into the call of the first pick. John Spytek drafted two offensive linemen in the third round, with Charles Grant becoming competition for Glaze at the tackle position.

Glaze has responded to the challenge during OTAs, performing well during the practice session. It has caught the eye of new head coach Pete Carroll, and he expects Glaze to make a big jump in his second year.

“Saw a lot out of DJ Glaze. I thought he’d had a really, really good offseason with us. He looks like he’s ready to go. He’s a second-year guy, and guys go from year one to year two, and they have the ability to make a big jump, because they’re through the rookie haze, and he’s shown that. So, it looks like a good, solid group.”

Glaze’s growth will be significant with his ability as a run blocker. If he can progress as a pass protector on the right side, he could build a tandem with Kolton Miller for the next couple of years.
