The Raiders could lock up some key players soon
The Las Vegas Raiders have given contract extensions to players such as Maxx Crosby and A.J. Cole this offseason despite there contract being up.
With plenty of salary-cap flexibility, the team could continue this trend. Here is a look at some players who could be given a deal soon:
Kolton Miller:
This is an interesting one. Miller is entering the final year of his contract and he has returned to the voluntary portion of the offseason workout program after reportedly sitting out the early portion of it because he wanted a new deal. So, Miller is working in good faith. What will the Raiders do? They drafted tackles Caleb Rogers and Charles Grant in third round. Neither should be ready to start this year, but perhaps Grant could be ready to play left tackle in 2026. So, the Raiders may not want to extend Miller right away. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller gets a new deal soon or if the team decides to wait. Either way, it’s a situation to watch.
“I want to be here for sure, but that’s all I can really say on it right now,” #Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers said Thursday when asked about a potential extension. “That’s business between us and the top floor, so I’ma just hold that one down for now.”

Jakobi Meyers:
Meyers’ recent comments about his future could be a hint that he feels that a new deal is close. At the very least, Meyers is making it known he wants to stay with the Raiders. The franchise may want to see how rookies Jack Bech and Dont’a Thornton perform as rookies before committing to a fairly-expensive veteran. But, in the end, the new Las Vegas regime may want to keep a valuable, reliable team leader for the next few seasons regardless of the young wide receivers on the roster.
Daniel Carlson:
Cole and Carlson are tied to the help. In 2021, they were extended together and it wouldn’t be a shock if Carlson was given a new deal soon as well. Yes, he did struggle some for his standards in 2024, but Carlson is still an overall reliable, above-average weapon who is worth keeping from leaving in free agency next year.
Jacob Bobenmoyer:
If Carlson is extended along with Cole, the team might as well keep the whole band together and extend Bobenmoyer as well as the long snapper is entering his final year of his contract.
