Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/20/25
The Olympic Games and flag football is still years off, but it’s a semi-new announcement that flag football can feature NFL players for the iconic games, and so there’s been plenty of questions and plenty to talk and speculate about. It’s fun.
One of the recent fun interactions was Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford being asked if he’d consider playing in the games and you can check out his response below, it’s comical, it’s cute and I think it’s honest.
Sean McVay spoke about the possibility of his players joining the games as well, and I thought his answer was brilliant. He basically said players can do what they want, and he’s right. They have a right to play if they are chosen/earn that right to play. McVay being open minded about it seems like the right strategy to me.
It’s Friday, comment on whatever you want, or don’t, but I hope you do! Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great, but safe, Friday!
And we have some new fanposts I’ll post below! Love to see it.

“I think it’s great,” Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters on Wednesday. “I think that is so far away from me. Coaching years are dog years, you know that. You hear Justin Jefferson come out and talk about, man, that would be really cool. That’s awesome. Like I think you give guys the opportunity to say, ‘Alright, well what’s your preference on it?’ And I think whatever our guys are . . . there’s going to be the availability for maybe one guy on each team to be able to do that. And if that’s something that players say they want to be able to do, then I think it’s a really cool experience for them to be able to be a part of while also acknowledging that man, there are some other guys that have been doing it. I’m not going to pretend to understand the nuances tactically and what that game entails, but I think it’s good. I think it’s great.”

Rams Super Bowl Champion Breaks Silence Amid Coach’s Trade Comments (heavy.com)
“In the meantime, Ramsey took to social media to clear the air.
The seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection called out “false narratives,” saying they are either “lame or funny,” and to “wish well & blessings” to those who doubt in a post on X on May 28.
“He said in a separate post that he was “grateful” for every part of his journey so far and praised God.
“For the record btw, i’ve loved every city i’ve played in & the fans who supported! the anger is very misplaced at times but sometimes valid too [laughing emoji],” Ramsey posted on X on May 28. “But real ones kno the intentions always solid! … a new chapter awaits.”

Why Fantasy Analyst Predicts Rams Will Shake Up Offensive Backfield (si.com)
“Jake Ciely isn’t so sure. A fantasy expert for The Athletic, he considers the Rams a prime candidate to shake up their offensive backfield at some point this year. For the record, McVay and general manager Les Snead have stated their desire to enter into a long-term partnership with Williams as long as they can agree on financial terms, but Ciely remains skeptical.
“Death. Taxes. The Rams draft running backs,” Ciely wrote last week, noting that the organization has drafted one running back in each of the last eight drafts (the only NFL team with that distinction). “So, you could argue that Williams’ role is in jeopardy or that Les Snead and Sean McVay are doing what they always do.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: What Should the Rams do on Sunday June 1, 2025? (By RamsRoll on May 27, 2025)
“It’s no secret that a lot of Rams fans were not thrilled that in their opinion the Rams did not adequately address certain positions in FA and the draft this year so far. Many fans believed that one of the top positions that needed to be addressed this offseason was CB. Others thought other positions were not adequately addressed.
June 1st will be here this Sunday. Why is that important? The Rams will have additional cap funds available from the release of Cooper Kupp. Jaylen Ramsey and the Dolphins appear to have reached a mutual decision to part ways and the financial implications of trading him post June 1 will be significantly better for the Phins on June 1.
Many Rams fans have expressed a desire for the Rams to reacquire Ramsey. Ramsey is under contract with the Phins and a trade would need to be agreed upon to acquire Ramsey from the Phins. What is your opinion about trading for Ramsey? Aside from money issues, how much draft capital would you trade to the Phins for Ramsey? The Rams have the following 2026 picks: two 1st rd picks, a 2nd rd, a 3rd rd, two 5th rds, two 6th rds and two 7th rds. Play GM amd propose your trade to the Phins.
Okay you don’t like the idea of trading for Ramsey. Then which player would you opt/desire to sign as a FA or acquire via trade? How much draft capital are you willing to “spend” to acquire him via trade? Lets here it Rams fans.”
Do Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford need a wake up call? (By RamsFanSince51 on May 29, 2025)
“One thing stands out that the current version of the Rams will find problematic if they want to emulate the Greatest Show on Turf.
The first quarter.
Anyone want to guess how many points the Rams scored in the first quarter of the regular season in 2024? Try 23, 1.3 per game, 2 TDs total. Stafford had 1 passing touchdown and a NFL passing rating of 72.5. In 1999, Kurt Warner had 13 passing TDs and a rating of 123.1 in the first quarter. In 11 games, the 2024 Rams scored zero first-quarter points!
What is the problem with the Rams in the first quarter? Is it Sean McVay’s play-calling? I haven’t studied it, but could it be? I do recall my personal observation of Stafford in the first quarter. At times he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. I never saw that look in the 4th quarter (passer rating of 106.1).”
