Random Ramsdom: Who will bounce-back for them this season?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/29/25

If the Los Angeles Rams are going to make a Super Bowl run, then they will need new faces to emerge and veterans to find a new gear. Which player do you expect to bounce-back for the 2025 Rams after what was perhaps a down year?

The article/link(s) below name Matthew Stafford, and that’s fine, but I think Stafford had a pretty solid year last season especially when you consider all the injuries on the team, but that’s just my perspective.

I don’t have a great answer as I felt like the team played pretty well last year with the exception of injury. I suppose if Tyler Higbee stays healthy, then we can expect him to have a much more involved year.

If Cooper Kupp were still on the team, then I’d guess I’d have picked him, but he’s not so maybe just their other wide receivers step up more than last season, like Tutu Atwell?

Is Steve Avila a good candidate for this topic?

One bounce-back candidate for all 32 NFL teams in 2025 (pff)

“Labeling Matthew Stafford a bounce-back candidate may seem odd, given his 24 touchdowns and just eight interceptions in 2024. However, his 73.3 passing grade was his second-lowest over the past nine seasons, and his 3.7% turnover-worthy play rate was his highest since 2017. For a veteran quarterback like Stafford, elite pass protection is essential — and the Rams didn’t provide it last season, finishing with the NFL’s third-worst pass-blocking grade. The difference was stark: Stafford earned a 90.6 passing grade from a clean pocket, compared to just 33.3 under pressure. If the Rams can keep him upright behind a healthier offensive line, Stafford could help lead another deep playoff run in 2025.”

Rams veteran offensive star picked as top bounce-back candidate by PFF (ramswire)

“L.A. even brought back some of their biggest names for 2025, including Matthew Stafford, Alaric Jackson and Tutu Atwell, while upgrading at other positions like receiver with Davante Adams, center with Coleman Shelton and inside linebacker with Nate Landman.

But not everyone had superstar seasons in 2024, and Pro Football Focus’ Dalton Wasserman wrote that Stafford is the Rams’ top bounceback candidate in 2025. Wasserman picked Stafford not because was bad this past season, though, but because he could be even better in 2025.”

Analyst claims Los Angeles Rams are doomed to take a step back (raisingzona)

Does that mean the Arizona Cardinals are in prime position to win their first NFC West title since 2015?

CBS Sports writer claims Rams are likely to lose the NFC West crown

“CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin didn’t throw much love the Cardinals’ way. His NFC West assessment included one sentence about the Cardinals — the last sentence. “And the Arizona Cardinals just beefed up their own ‘D’ as well,” Benjamin wrote.

Arizona did improve its defense over the offseason through free agency and the draft. A better defense, alone, could help the Cardinals’ fortunes. A better pass rush led by Josh Sweat could help dramatically against mostly stationary quarterbacks on the Rams (Matthew Stafford) and Seahawks (Sam Darnold).”
