Raiders signed former Chicago wide receiver
The Las Vegas Raiders signed wide receiver Collin Johnson as a free agent recently.
Let’s take a closer look at Johnson:
Size:
6-6, 222 pounds.
NFL experience:
Johnson was a fifth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. The Jaguars waived Johnson in 2021 and he claimed by the New York Giants. He tore his achilles in 2022 and then the Giants cut him in 2023. He was signed to the Chicago Bears’ practice squad in 2023 and signed to the 53-man roster toward the end of the season. He played nine games for the Bears in 2024. Johnson has 31 catches in 38 NFL games.
College:
He went to Texas where his father Johnnie Johnson was a star as well before having along career with the Los Angeles Rams.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Johnson, who turns 28 in September, has great size and some experience. He could possibly make the 53-man roster with a strong preseason, but the Raiders depth at wide receiver is filled with young players they like. But still Johnson’s skillset earns him a look.
