Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/26/25
Orlando Pace is a legend for the Los Angeles Rams, and he may become even more known around the league as he gets to vote on the newly added NFL’s Protector of the Year Award.
Andrew Whitworth is more or the less the one to get this award and added, he’ll have a vote too, so between Whitworth and Pace the new award will have some L.A. legends behind it.
It’s cool, its new and any reason to bring up Pace seems like a good reason to me! Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times, hopefully you are having a great holiday weekend! Comment on whatever you’d like!
Two Rams legends will be on the panel for the NFL’s new Protector of the Year Award (ramswire)
“The NFL is introducing a new award this year called the Protector of the Year. It recognizes the best offensive lineman in the league each season, rewarding a position that rarely gets the credit it deserves from fans and analysts.
Andrew Whitworth and Dion Dawkins spearheaded the movement, campaigning for the NFL to create an award that will be handed out annually at the NFL Honors alongside MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and others.
Not only did Whitworth campaign for the award, but he’ll also be one of the people voting on it each year, as will another Rams legend: Orlando Pace. The NFL announced the six-person panel that will decide the winner, picking the top five nominees before selecting one winner from the list.”
Heading to Philly in Week 3.

Quentin Lake shares his thoughts on the Rams potentially trading for Jalen Ramsey (ramswire)
“That would be – we would be a tough team, especially a tough defense to beat,” Lake said on NFL Network. “He knows the system, he’s familiar with the organization. Jalen is a God-given talent. Not only is he smart, he’s been in the league a long time playing at such a high level. Anytime you get to bring a guy like that back, he’s only going to add value. He is a star and anybody that you ask, he’s such an amazing player.”
“Wasn’t supposed to be here today — we here though. Hard work.”

DB Quentin Lake bullish on Rams offense: ‘It’s gonna be kind of reminiscent of The Greatest Show on Turf’ (nfl.com)
“We got our future Hall of Famer Matthew Stafford. I call him mister long handoff,” Lake said. “I expect big things. You’ve got Puka (Nacua) on one end, you’ve got Davante (Adams) on the other. Tutu Atwell does a fantastic job, too. We have all the weapons that we need, and then Kyren (Williams) in the backfield. It’s gonna be kind of reminiscent of The Greatest Show on Turf. I hope we kind of bring that name back this year.”
“The Greatest Show on Turf” moniker belongs to the Rams offense from 1999-2001, when quarterback Kurt Warner lit up the league with the help of wide receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce and running back Marshall Faulk. The Rams went 37-11, reached two Super Bowls with one win, and led the NFL in points and yards during each season during that span.”
