Special teams expert.
After a tough 2024 season, many Cincinnati Bengals players are eyeing bounce-back years. As they reshape the defense, plenty of players on that side of the ball are hoping to be a big part of the turnaround.
A lesser-known player on the special teams unit has big goals for the 2025 season, however. Tycen Anderson hasn’t worked his way into a starting safety role, spending his whole career stuck behind the likes of Jessie Bates III, Dax Hill, Vonn Bell and Jordan Battle.
Anderson isn’t letting that frustrate him, though. Instead, he has fully bought in to his role on Special Teams and has his sights set at the top for 2025.
“I want to be the best special teams player in the league,” Anderson told Dan Hoard. “There are a lot of great dudes, and I want to be brought up in the discussion and push for an All-Pro season.”
Anderson has dealt with serious injuries since being drafted in the fifth round in 2022 and now, fully healthy, looks to be a key component of the Special Teams unit run by Darrin Simmons.
While the defense will get most of the focus this season, Anderson meeting his goal of being an All Pro special teamer will certainly help the Bengals as they push to make it back to the playoffs.
