Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/16/25
Former NFL tight end (and maybe future Hall of Famer?) Greg Olsen expressed a lot of positive takes for Terrance Ferguson falling to the Los Angeles Rams. He expects Ferguson to fit right in with the offense, and he referenced rumors that L.A. may have wanted Ferguson in the first round, so the fact that L.A. got him in the second round is pretty remarkable.
Will Ferguson be a better fit than Gerald Everett? Another second-round tight end taken by the Rams who had some great moment, but ultimately moved on as the Rams stuck with Tyler Higbee.

Former NFL star TE loved the Rams’ first 2025 draft pick (ramswire)
“He’s kind of that bigger body, reliable, super versatile, all of the misdirection, all the play action, the under center stuff that they’re gonna do,” Olsen said. “Like, he’s a really good fit for that. And listen, if what you’re saying is true and they were gonna take him in the first round, then this is the win of a lifetime.
“He’s talented. He comes from a premier program. And when you can put talented guys into a Sean McVay system, he has shown for a long time now, that even if they’re not the most heralded, they’re not the number one overall pick … if you’re a real football player and you’re talented and you go in there and you buy into what Sean McVay is going to ask you to do, he should have the ability to have guys have a lot of success.”

Rams fans already bracing for pain after NFL screws Matthew Stafford early on (ramblinfan)
“The Los Angeles Rams may not have the worst Strength of Schedule (SOS) in 2025, but the Rams are not getting an easy ride this year. Thanks to finishing first in the NFC West Division in 2024,
the Rams have drawn the short straw in 2025 as they must face the best of the other NFL divisions this season. Unfortunately, the 2025 Rams schedule wastes no time throwing the Rams to the wolves.
Or in this case, at the Houston Texans (10-7) and Philadelphia Eagles (14-3).
The Rams coaxed veteran starting quarterback Matthew Stafford to return for 2025 and will continue to revisit whether Stafford is still passionate about returning to play football for one more year. But after facing the Texans and then going on the road to face the Tennessee Titans and then the Philadelphia Eagles, the following two weeks, he may have second thoughts about what he’s willing to put his body through.”

Matthew Stafford shares his first impressions of Davante Adams from spring practices (ramswire)
“He’s been great,” Stafford said of Adams. “Obviously, played against him in the division, have been a fan of his from afar on the other sideline for a long time. What he’s been able to do in the league kind of speaks for itself but then getting to be around him personally every day, working with him, throwing to him, just seeing the kind of professional that he is. He fits right in. Those are the kind of guys since I’ve been here in L.A. that we’ve had. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to throw with a bunch of guys that take the game seriously, love going out and competing, trying to find ways to get better. He’s no different and we’re definitely excited to have him. I know for me as a quarterback, I feel lucky for all the guys I’ve been able to throw to and he’s definitely up there.”
