The Bengals retained Hill with a lucrative payday this offseason.
Cincinnati Bengals fans may have been concerned when they saw images circulating on Twitter of defensive tackle B.J. Hill in a walking boot during Phase 2 of offseason workouts this week.
Head coach Zac Taylor gave an update on Hill following a recent OTA session.
“It’ll be a couple of weeks here in the offseason program, which I’m thankful for,” Taylor said. ”We’ll be very slow to go with him in the offseason. B.J. is a guy who’s accrued a lot of reps here, knows what we’re doing, so we’ll be very careful.”
A veteran presence on the Bengals’ young defense going into 2025, Hill signed a three-year, $33 million contract extension back in March. Hill has been with the Bengals in each of the past four seasons, and he has emerged as a leader on the field and in the locker room.
In addition to his 70.2 PFF grade in 2024, Hill had 56 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and three sacks. Hill has 16 sacks in his for seasons with the Bengals.
Hill will definitely be a key member of the Bengals in 2025 as they look to get back to the Playoffs.
Zac Taylor says BJ Hill will be in a boot “for a couple of weeks in the off-season program” priority is making sure he is fully healthy going forward. No update on Trey Hendrickson negotiations. pic.twitter.com/1312KJYX40
