Random Ramsdom: Are they one of the best teams in the NFL?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/3/25

Is the Los Angeles Rams one of the best teams in the NFL? I think there is no real argument that the Philadelphia Eagles are the best team in the NFL, so where do you rank the Rams?

Top-3? Top-5? Top-10? Outside of your top-10?

Did they improve after the draft, or are they about the same?

We want to hear from you!

I think depending on my mood I would say the Rams are anywhere from a Top-3 team (behind the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs) to a top-10 team behind teams like the Buffalo Bills and maybe the Washing Commanders? I’m not sure, but Washington had a great year last season.

I hope you had a good week, I hope you had a great Friday and I wish you a happy Saturday and weekend! Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

The Rams Have Solidified Themselves as One of the Best (si.com)

“The Rams’ roster was talented enough before the draft to sustain not having a first-round pick this year in exchange for two first-round picks next offseason. Los Angeles set themselves up for success before the draft, then capitalized on their opportunities to improve in the draft.

“I really have to credit the Rams for their approach. It’s not easy to butter both sides of the bread — adding pieces for a potential title run in the short term while also compiling for the future — but that’s exactly what Les Snead and Co. have done,” Edholm said.”

Terrance Ferguson Makes Stunning Pre-Draft Revelation Involving Rams (athlonsports)

“I actually had a formal interview with just one person, not even everybody, during the Combine and that was about it,” Ferguson shared via the Rams. He didn’t reveal who the Rams representative was.

The Rams have historically become discreet about who they pursue in the draft, though. Although multiple reports revealed Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe visited the Rams. Milroe ultimately went to the Seattle Seahawks in the third round.”

Kyren Williams Reacts to Rams Adding RB Competition via NFL Draft (athlonsports)

“I’ve been in the league since I was 21 years old,” Williams said to Siddiqi. “Being able to be surrounded by the type of vets that I was surrounded by earlier in my career, it makes it easier. It makes it exciting to be a young leader, I can take these guys underneath my wings and show them the way.”

Williams added that he had it far different compared to Hunter, Corum and the other Rams backs.

“Nobody really showed me how to do it. Once I was able to get to where I’m at, it’s only right that I put it on the people who are going to be after me,” Williams said. “I’m just going to take from the mistakes and everything that I learned from my work here to where I’m at now, try to put them on game, just be cheerful and be happy for them for whatever they do.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Did Sean McVay “lock into” one particular player in the 2025 draft? (By RamsRoll on Apr 29, 2025)

“Conventional wisdom in the NFL is GMs & coaches should not fall in love with a particular player in the draft & lock in on that player & draft that player at the expense of passing up greater/better talent in the draft. Did Sean McVay violate that “rule” in the 2025 draft & convince GM Snead to take TE Ferguson with the Rams’ first pick in the 2025 draft? I believe McVay did fall in love with Ferguson & lock in on taking him with the Rams’ first pick in the draft. Was that a mistake? I’m not going to conclude that. It would be foolish for me to do that, because I have no idea whether Ferguson will develop into the player that McVay envisions. I’m merely stating that I think, for whatever reason, McVay fell in love with Ferguson & wanted him badly.

Did the Rams need to upgrade the TE position in the draft? Doubtless IMO. Did the rams need to draft a TE in 2025 to prepare for the future absent Higbee? Doubtless IMO. Did the Rams need to draft Ferguson at 46 to accomplish those goals? Maybe so, maybe not. Hard to say when Ferguson would have been drafted had the Rams picked a different position at 46. IMO McVay fell in love with Ferguson & he was the #1 player on his board. Would the Rams have been better served by taking a different position at 46 and then drafting a TE later in the draft? That’s a really tough call. Perhaps Arroyo, Fannin & Ferguson would all have been picked between 46 & 90 had the Rams taken a different position at 46. Would have McVay been happy with any TE other than Ferguson? I don’t think so.

What are your thoughts and opinions TST members? Do you think McVay & Co did what I am suggesting in this FanPost or do you think I am full of you know what? If you think I might be correct, do you think what McSnead did was a “mistake” or do you think it is too soon to say?

Thanks so much for reading my FanPost. As always Lets Go Rams”
