NFC East 4. New York Giants.
The success of Jaxson Dart, who led the FBS in PFF passing grade in 2024, will be the primary determinant in the Giants’ draft success. However, they improved in the trenches by selecting Abdul Carter, Darius Alexander and Marcus Mbow. Fourth-round pick Cameron Skattebo, who led the Power Four in PFF rushing grade last season, could eventually be the workhorse New York has been seeking in the backfield.

65. DL Darius Alexander, New York Giants . Alexander has prototypical size, length, and athleticism. He has a devastating bull rush with heavy hands that uproot blockers on initial contact. He also wins as a finesse rusher with an effective club-swim move and has the ideal combination of bend and lateral quickness to attack the edge of the block.
Alexander is a disruptive run defender, recording at least one run stop in every game of the 2024 season. His legs are disproportionately thin for his size and he needs to play blocks with lower pad level to improve his anchor. But he has the power and twitch in his upper body to rip through single blocks and make plays in the backfield. Alexander was one of the most impressive defensive tackles at the Senior Bowl.

New York Giants. Biggest need: Guard. The Giants made a run at free agent guard Will Fries, but he ended up way out of their price range. They then pivoted to 35-year-old Greg Van Roten, whom they were trying to replace. It’s also possible that they’ll try to convert failed right tackle Evan Neal to a guard. And while they plan to work their fifth-round pick, Marcus Mbow, at tackle at first, many around the league projected him as a future guard. So they’ve got plenty of options at the position. It remains to be seen if any of them are good enough.

If Jaxson Dart were gone, would Giants have drafted Shedeur Sanders? NFL insider reveals | NJ.com
“Jaxson Dart the player probably gives them more options, more different directions, more dynamic ways they could run this offense. And, yeah, the hope is that he’s the quarterback of the future,” Ian Rapoport said on the NFL Network. “What we talked about pre-draft, Tom, was for the Giants, as they were debating to take a quarterback at three, thought it was maybe Shedeur Sanders. I do believe, had Dart not been there for the Giants, trading up for Shedeur Sanders was very much a possibility, something they were absolutely thinking about.”
Ex-NFL head coach Jon Gruden praised the Giants for what they did in 2025 NFL Draft | NJ.com
“I love Jaxson Dart,” Gruden said. “We had him here at Gruden’s QB class. He’s going to be the future QB of the Giants. I’m excited to watch this man. I like getting this guy (Marcus) Mbow, the offensive tackle from Purdue. He’s real athletic. I think he can be a good swing tackle. I like this guy. And you know what, I love Cam Skattaboo from Arizona State. He’s the perfect New York Giant because he is a fun back to have. I’m really fired up with the New York Football Giants.”
2025 NFL Draft: Grading every QB selection | PFF
25. New York Giants: QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss. Pick Grade: Below Average. Opinions on Dart vary, but the Giants traded up to get their guy. His profile matches that of a starting-caliber quarterback, grading above the 89th percentile in five of PFF’s stable metrics, including a 94th percentile mark on early downs. Ole Miss’ offensive issues aside, Dart was the highest-graded passer in the 2025 draft class and showed strong downfield accuracy.

Lane Kiffin expects Jaxson Dart to succeed with Giants | USAToday.com
Kiffin expects Dart and Nabers will get to know each other very quickly.
“I think he’ll work so hard from Day 1 with him (Nabers), and he’ll fly to wherever he is in the offseason to work with him and get down their throws and timing and everything. They’ll be an amazing pair for a long time to come,” said Kiffin. “I think he’ll do well. I think ‘’’cause he’s really genuine. What you see is what you get and you’ll really like him. I know you guys are tough at times, but I think he’ll do really well.”
Giants’ Jaxson Dart won’t be allowed to get too comfortable in Brian Daboll’s development plan | New York Post
When he least expects it, Dart will be thrust onto the field to take a rep in training camp this summer. He will be observing the starters out there and, knowing he is working with the third-team offense, there is no reason for Dart to be asked to go in to replace Russell Wilson. But that is what will happen, not often, but sometimes. The rookie will not be able to get too comfortable watching and learning because Daboll likes to knock the comfort out of his quarterbacks.
“Maybe you’ll see him in there, sprinkle him in when he doesn’t even know he’s supposed to go in there— just to see how he reacts being in a different atmosphere,’’ Daboll said. “He won’t know when or why.’’
