Favorite OL Classes — Boston College C Drew Kendall – Selected in Round 5 – Late Round 4 Grade. Michigan OT Myles Hinton – Selected in Round 6 – Round 4 Grade. Texas OT Cam Williams – Selected in Round 6 – Round 3 Grade. The Eagles drafted three offensive linemen between rounds five and six. Two of those three (Drew Kendall & Myles Hinton) came from NFL bloodlines with fathers who started a combined 365 games on the offensive line. Kendall was added for depth at the position behind newly re-signed starter Cam Jurgens. Kendall brings 37 games of starting experience at center predominantly inside a run-heavy, zone-based scheme that is similar to what the Eagles run. He is a sticky run blocker with a firm grasp of leverage, angles and enough play strength to seal off lanes and die slowly in his anchor. This should win him the backup center job outright. Kendall also adds flexibility to the interior in case Jurgens needs to kick back out to right guard if Kenyon Green, Tyler Steen or Trevor Keegan fail to lock down the job. Williams and Hinton represent two shrewd, high-upside swings at addressing the swing tackle role and adding additional right guard competition. If either hits, they could become the long-term replacement for Lane Johnson after he retires. Both players are massive, easy movers who are inexperienced with underdeveloped, raw skill-sets. They landed in the ideal situation to reach their best possible outcomes as pro players inside Jeff Stoutland’s renowned developmental pipeline.
Eagles 2025 NFL Draft class analysis – BGN
Drew Kendall, Center, Boston College. Key Measurables: 6’4”, 308 Pounds, 4.51 20-Yard Shuffle. Key Stats: One Sack Allowed in 2024. The first of three offensive lineman the Eagles picked in this draft. Drew Kendall is a bit small, but a very athletic and experienced center. Kendall will be a great developmental player under Jeff Stoutland’s tutelage that can serve as Cam Jurgens’ backup and potentially butt his head into the guard competition.
2025 NFL Draft: Grades for every Day 3 pick – PFF
207. Philadelphia Eagles (via Kansas City Chiefs): T Cameron Williams, Texas. Pick Grade: Elite. Ranked 93rd on the PFF Big Board, Williams might be one of Day 3’s biggest steals. He earned an 84.0 grade on zone blocks last season and could become Philadelphia’s long-term answer at right tackle once future Hall-of-Famer Lane Johnson retires.

5. Can Kendall play guard? Despite playing exclusively center during his college career at Boston College, Drew Kendall was officially listed as a center/guard when the Eagles drafted him in the fifth round. And Kendall, who played guard before going to BC, thinks he has the versatility to play guard in the NFL too. “I’ve always tried to pride myself on that versatility,” Kendall said. “I played all center at BC but played a little bit of guard beforehand my first year there. That’s something I’m continuously working on in the offseasons, making sure I’m getting my snaps and playing center but also, at the same time, getting in that two-point stance and playing some guard.” Kendall (6-4, 308) is confident in his ability to play guard and we’ll see if he’ll get the opportunity to cross-train this spring and summer. He said that versatility was an emphasis during his pre-draft process. “I think that’s a big thing for all interior guys,” Kendall said. “I think it’s difficult to just be one position. Even tackle, you gotta play both sides. I think that was a big thing coming out of BC that I was going to have to continuously work on. I didn’t quite get the amount of reps beforehand playing some guard. Constantly working on it now.”

This wasn’t quite the Philadelphia masterclass we’ve seen in the past, but it was still a darn solid draft. Jihaad Campbell was incredible value in at pick 31, but things tapered off from there. The positive note is with so many picks the Eagles have set themselves up to hit on a few of these guys — so that’s a good position to be in. Grade: B.
The Eagles’ remaining holes to fill, post-draft, and who can fill them – PhillyVoice
The Eagles are not going to pay the $14 million that Dallas Goedert is scheduled to make in 2025. He missed seven games in 2024, and all but 3 snaps in an eighth game, after missing three games in 2023 and five games in 2022. If he is going to return to the team, he is going to be forced to take a pay cut. Goedert may not feel like a pay cut is super fair, given that he was a beast for the Eagles during the playoffs and helped them win a Super Bowl. However, he also has to be realistic about what other teams around the league might offer if the Eagles were to release him. That situation remains fluid. If Goedert returns on a cheaper deal, the Eagles are set at tight end. If he does not return and is gone one way or the other after June 1, the Eagles cannot reasonably go into a season with Grant Calcaterra, Kylen Granson, and Harrison Bryant as their starting options and hope they can replicate Goedert’s production as a receiver and blocker. The Eagles would likely seek to trade for another tight end on a rookie deal with one of the 12 draft picks they hold in the 2026 draft. If Goedert does not return, the most logical trade target, in my opinion, is the Raiders’ Michael Mayer.

Adding Campbell to the defense doesn’t suddenly mean the Eagles will suddenly shut down Daniels with ease. It does help the defense to be able to deal with him and other mobile QBs. Washington can be especially challenging because they run so much no-huddle and also use a lot of screens. You must have LBs who can run and cover. If Campbell had clean medicals, he would have gone much higher. Mike Mayock had him going 9th overall in his final mock draft. Daniel Jeremiah had Campbell rated as his 12th overall player. He also had an interesting comment on Campbell. “Overall, Campbell expands the playbook for defensive coordinators and his best football is ahead of him.”

Jihaad Campbell, LB, Philadelphia Eagles (No. 31). At one point, I thought Campbell wouldn’t make it out of the top 15 picks in this draft. But after medical considerations, including labrum surgery after the combine, he landed with the Eagles in a tiny move up (from No. 32 to No. 31). In my penultimate mock draft, I viewed Campbell as a strong fit for the Eagles because they won’t need him in Week 1. The eventual possibility of Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean and Campbell at linebacker is a frightening scene for opposing offenses. […] Mac McWilliams, CB, Philadelphia Eagles (No. 145). The Eagles focused on cornerback early in the draft last year, with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean playing a key role in their Super Bowl run. But they needed to replenish their depth after the departures of veterans Darius Slay Jr. and Avonte Maddox. McWilliams profiles as a slot corner given his size, but I love the feistiness and explosiveness with which he plays. Before transferring to UCF, he played slot corner and returned punts at UAB in 2023.

I love Eagles GM Howie Roseman—he’s done a fantastic job. But I’d say his first-round pick this year, Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell, is a little like two years ago with Jalen Carter. In both cases, there was a reason why the guy was available. With Carter, it was a checkered off-field history that Philly felt well-qualified to manage. With Campbell, it’s his shoulders and knees (yes, plural on both counts). And, again, this is one where the Eagles are more equipped to take on the risk than others, because they don’t need the pick to hit.

1) Philadelphia Eagles. One of these years, I am gonna be unimpressed by an Eagles draft class. This is not the year. Not all of Philadelphia’s picks are going to work, which we know; it’s the process and the thought and the patience that stand out. It all makes sense. Did you realize the Eagles could have 12 picks in next year’s draft? And at the very least, Jihaad Campbell, Andrew Mukuba and Ty Robinson — their first three picks from this year’s draft — figure to enter the rotation in 2025, with Mukuba capable of winning a starting job. How many teams picking 32nd over the years can claim to have that strong a haul? Jalen Hurts and the boys are even better insulated to make another title run.
So when McCord saw phone numbers with 215 or 609 area codes coming in during the third day of the draft, during rounds 4-7 on April 26, he thought it could have been Eagles general manager Howie Roseman telling him he had been drafted. When Roseman actually did call, well, McCord said he thought it was another prank. “I wasn’t going into the draft thinking Philly was at the top of places that I think I could end up,” he said. “I got a few prank calls earlier in the day from 609 numbers and 215 numbers. So I’m like, alright. When I got that 215 phone call, I was thinking it was just another prank call. “But picking up the phone and having Howie on the other side was pretty cool.”

The Commanders parlayed their seven original picks, plus two from the Eagles, to add eight new players. These included upgrades to both starting OT positions and both starting boundary CBs, a dynamic veteran playmaker on offense, and likely early contributors at WR/PR and RB. There is some downside in converting long-term capital into short shelf-life assets when trading draft picks for veteran players, and the debt for acquiring Tunsil extends to next draft. But those moves were necessitated by the state in which Ron Rivera left the roster. Overall, the Commanders’ draft capital was used to achieve a massive increase in the team’s talent level for the 2025 season, with long-term upside at two premium positions. Hopefully this off-season’s additions will get the roster over the hump, allowing the focus to shift to more long-term team building and maintenance next offseason or the following one. The Dallas Cowboys did not select a wide receiver during the NFL draft. Partly because their round one target, Tetairoa McMillan, went off the board to the Carolina Panthers just a few spots before them. After that, the team went in a different direction and never pulled the trigger in later rounds. While the front office is confident in their current wide receiver group’s ability to step up and potentially be CeeDee Lamb’s true No. 2, they could be looking outside the building just in case. Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram suggests a potential reunion with free agent Amari Cooper could be on the table for Dallas.
The education of New York Giants GM Joe Schoen – Big Blue View
Unsurprisingly, the verdict around the NFL and among New York Giants fans is that Joe Schoen had a great three days at the NFL Draft. None of it means anything until the games begin, but for a team coming off a dispiriting 3-14 season, the optimism now is higher than anyone might have imagined. For whatever reason, Schoen and his staff now seem to be better drafters than they were when they first came in. In some sense that’s not a surprise. Schoen was hired by the Giants on January 21, 2022. Brian Daboll was hired as head coach a week later. That gave them less than three months on the job to evaluate the existing roster, get to know their college and pro personnel departments mostly inherited from the previous regime, and deal with free agency.
