The Rams finish the draft by taking Pitt wide receiver Konata Mumpfield
The Los Angeles Rams wrapped up the 2025 NFL Draft in the seventh round with the 242nd overall selection. With their fourth and final pick of the evening, the Rams selected Pitt wide receiver Konata Mumpfield. General manager Les Snead’s focus will now turn to undrafted free agemcy.

After a lot of speculation that the Rams may address the wide receiver position earlier in the draft, they wait until their final pick to take Mumpfield. Mumpfield fits exactly what the Rams look for at the position. The Pitt wide receiver is a crafty route-runner, is versatile as he can align inside or outside, and he also brings competitive urgency.
On the Rams
While many were expecting a wide receiver that could potentially slot into the top three on the depth chart, the Rams waited until their final pick to address the position. Mumpfield was a player that competed earlier this spring at the Shrine Bowl and really stood out. He won’t compete with Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, Tutu Atwell, or Jordan Whittington, but Mumpfield will be pushing players like Xavier Smith, Quintez Cephus, and Drake Stoops.
Mumpfield didn’t provide a lot of value on special teams at Pitt. However, the Rams could look to get him some reps there, especially as a returner. Mumpfield doesn’t bring a lot of top-end speed as he only ran a 4.59 second 40-yard dash. At the very least, Mumpfield will look to continue adding depth to the Rams receiver room.
