How would you grade LA’s draft?

How would you grade LA’s draft?

Are you giving Les Snead a passing grade?

The Los Angeles Rams are officially out of their “rebuild” state from years prior as evident by a Draft that saw just six players get added on to the roster. A trade in the first round sent LA’s first round draft pick to the Atlanta Falcons for theirs in 2026 that could set them up to make a big-play for Matthew Stafford’s future replacement next year. A part from that though, there are mixed feelings of the team’s performance in this year’s draft.

What grade are you giving LA for their draft this year?

It is hard to go against anything that Snead and coach Sean McVay do as they have been proven to be right on multiple occasions, but the position groups they chose to invest in were somewhat questionable. Their pick in the second-round, tight end Terrance Ferguson, made sense after Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren fell before the 26th pick, but it could be argued that Ferguson would have still been available in Round 3 (PFF ranked him as the 5th tight end and ranked 85 on their Big Board) and the 46th pick could have been used for a better value player. The Rams did add another RB (Jarquez Hunter) in an already crowded RB room and may have found another late round gem in Wide Receiver Konata Mumpfield out of Pitt.

Defensive Coordinator Chris Shula was gifted some new weapons on his side of the ball with two picks going to the Linebacker position (Josaiah Stewart and Chris Paul Jr.) and the other pick beefing up an already young and talented defensive line with the addition of Ty Hamilton.

No picks were used to fortify the offensive line or to address the Cornerback position which may mean McVay and Snead have more confidence in the group from those on the outside looking in, but it could also mean they make a play to reunite with Jalen Ramsey who is looking to part ways with the Miami Dolphins.

My Grade: C+
