The Eagles have a new offensive lineman!
With the 168th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles select … Drew Kendall, center, Boston College!
This marks the Eagles’ first offensive selection in this year’s draft after starting with five straight picks on defense.
Let’s also quickly note that the Eagles were originally set to make a pick shortly before this one but they traded down with the Los Angeles Chargers. Here are the terms of that deal:
EAGLES RECEIVE — No. 181, No. 209
CHARGERS RECEIVE — No. 165
Back to the pick at No. 168.
Kendall, who turns 24 in November, made 37 starts at center in college. The Eagles are conceivably drafting him to compete for a role as Cam Jurgens’ backup. When Jurgens had to miss some time last year, starting left guard Landon Dickerson shifted to center with Tyler Steen coming in to replace Dickerson.
The Eagles drafted a center-only prospect last year in Dylan McMahon but ended up cutting him in part due to a lack of positional versatility. For what it’s worth, the team’s social media graphic is listing Kendall at “C/G” (center/guard).

Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:
The traits and athletic features don’t stand out, but Kendall comes from NFL bloodlines and simply knows how to play. He’s detail-oriented as a run blocker with good footwork, hand placement and body control. He adjusts well to movement in-line or in space to execute his block. He’s not a bender, so I expect him to have trouble dealing with A-gap pluggers and longer bull-rushers who can roll him into the pocket. Kendall’s technique, toughness and intelligence are important elements as a center, but given his measurables and lack of position flexibility, his ceiling might be on the lower end.
