The Vikings final pick plays a position of need
The Minnesota Vikings addressed a position of need with their final selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting tight end Gavin Bartholomew from the University of Pittsburgh.
As we mentioned in our pre-draft roster breakdown, the Vikings currently only have two tight ends on the roster right now in T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver. That doesn’t necessarily guarantee Bartholomew a spot on the team or anything, but I certainly don’t think it hurts his chances.
Bartholomew was used as more of a slot tight end at Pitt as opposed to an in-line player. His blocking stills are average but could continue to improve. He also appears to be much better against zone coverage than he is against man-to-man.
