Who is still on the board as the start of the second day of the 2025 NFL Draft approaches?
The 2025 NFL Draft completed its first round on Thursday, bringing the first 32 college prospects into the league as rookies. On Friday, the next two rounds will add another 70 first-year players into the league. Who is still on the board when tonight’s second round kicks off at 7 p.m. Eastern?
SB Nation’s Mark Schofield released his list of the best players remaining late last night, updating JP Acosta’s pre-Draft rankings for the picks made on Thursday. We take a look at the list and provide some thoughts on some of the players who could be targets for the Miami Dolphins tonight.
The rankings below are SB Nation’s Pre-Draft rank for each player.
– Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
The Dolphins have a need at cornerback – even if they do not trade Jalen Ramsey, though that relationship seems broken at this point – so Johnson has to be a consideration. Concerns about his knees have forced this slide, but if the Dolphins can make a move up the draft board without paying a ransom, or Johnson continues to fall, Miami might have to land Johnson.
– Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
– Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
– Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
– Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
How long will Sanders continue to slide? Originally believed to be in the debate for the top overall pick, Sanders might force teams to over bid if they want to force the Browns out of the top spot in the second round to acquire Sanders. Or Cleveland may just end the slide as soon as day two opens.
– Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State
– Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
Two more cornerbacks for the Dolphins to consider. Corner seemed like the biggest faller among positions this year, and that could play perfectly into the Dolphins’ hands. Revel might be the better player early in his career, while Thomas might need a year to develop – though Revel is coming off a torn ACL that could be a concern. Thomas is probably more of a press corner while Revel is a zone option.
– Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa
– Marcus Mbow, OG, Purdue
I doubt Mbow is available for the Dolphins at 48, but it he is on the board, Miami needs to be running to turn in their draft card. A move up could be in the cards here as well.
– Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA
– Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M
– Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
He might be lower than some other corners on the rankings from SB Nation, but Amos would not be a bad option for the Dolphins to find a Week 1 starter at cornerback. Tall and a good press-coverage player, he works well in both man and zone coverages.
– Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo
-Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State
– Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
– Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame
– Alfred Collins, DT, Texas
– Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
– Charles Grant, OT, William and Mary
A former wrestler who uses that foundation in his blocking, Grant will need development time at the NFL level to reach his full potential. He is listed as a tackle, but he might need to move inside as a guard.
– Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
This is a 100 percent run to the podium type of player for me. The Dolphins need secondary help, and while cornerback is the focal point, a safety like Emmanwori provides a lot of coverage options for the defense. This would be a steal for Miami.
– Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State
– Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford
– Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas
– Treyveon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
– Tate Ratledge, OG, Georgia
This might not be a sprint to the podium type of pick, but a good solid jog up there would make sense. Ratledge may not be the best guard in the league during his career, but he is going to be a tough, solid player who is going to start for you for years and you will not hear his name – exactly what you want from an offensive lineman. He will immediately start and the Dolphins need an immediate starter at guard.
– Jamaree Caldwell, DT, Oregon
– Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
– Jonah Savaiinaea, OG, Arizona
He will probably need some coaching and development time to reach his full potential when compared to Ratledge, but Savaiinaea is a big man who will be able to set blocks in the middle of the line. He worked as a tackle in college, but will be a guard in the NFL.
– Gunnar Helm, TE, Texas
– Billy Bowman Jr., S, Oklahoma
– Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas
– DJ Giddens, RB, Kansas State
– Jack Bech, WR, TCU
– RJ Harvey, RB, UCF
– Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
– Darien Porter, CB, Iowa State
– Ashton Gillotte, EDGE, Louisville
– Bradyn Swinson, EDGE, LSU
– Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State
– Jacob Parrish, CB, Kansas State
– Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
– JT Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State
– Oluwafemi Oladejo, EDGE, UCLA
– Harold Fannin Jr, TE, Bowling Green
– Jalen Travis, OT, Iowa State
– Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami
– Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
– Mason Taylor, TE, LSU
– Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma
– Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss
– TJ Sanders, DT, South Carolina
– Kyle Kennard, EDGE, South Carolina
– Tory Horton, WR, Colorado State
– Demetrius Knight Jr, LB, South Carolina
– Kain Medrano, LB, UCLA
– Kevin Winston Jr, S, Penn State
– Kyle Williams, WR, Washington State
– CJ West, DT, Indiana
– Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
– Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
– Devin Neal, RB, Kansas
– Terrance Ferguson, TE, Oregon
– Saivion Williams, WR, TCU
– Jonas Sanker, S, Virginia
– Damien Martinez, RB, Miami
– Ozzy Trapailo, OT, Boston College
– Josh Farmer, DT, Florida State
– Jordan Phillips, DT, Maryland
