The 2025 NFL Draft is finally year with the first pick set to take place within a matter of hours. As it stands, the Los Angeles Rams are set to have a first round pick for a second consecutive year. After selecting the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year in Jared Verse last year with the 19th overall pick, there will be a lot of anticipation for who the Rams select at 26. The draft will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network. Assuming the Rams don’t trade out of their original draft slot, they should be picking around 11-11:30 p.m.
Time of announcement for No. 26 pick in recent years:
- 2020: 11:26 p.m.
- 2021: 11:26 p.m.
- 2022: 10:57 p.m.
- 2023: 11:19 p.m.
- 2024: 11:18 p.m.
As it stands, the Rams are set to have eight draft picks and according to FanDuel Sportsbook, are favored to take a cornerback with the 26th overall selection. In Fanduel’s final mock draft, analyst Austin Swaim gave the Rams Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron. Said Swain,
“Les Snead and Sean McVay will salsa into their press conference if the draft plays out this way…In a zone scheme, Barron has unusual flexibility to play outside, at nickel, or at safety with similar ability. I think he’s the best corner in the draft…The second-round depth at the position also provides hope to wait…If Barron is off the board, Maxwell Hairston is a similar speedy product who will fit well.”
Barron would be a solid pick for the Rams and be a great addition to the secondary. The Rams biggest need in the draft is cornerback along with offensive tackle, defensive line, tight end, wide receiver, and potentially quarterback.
The Los Angeles Rams hold 8 picks:
- 26th Overall
- 90th Overall
- 101st Overall
- 127th Overall
- 190th Overall
- 195th Overall
- 201st Overall
- 202nd Overall
