It’s the draft day
OK, it’s Draft day. We’ve been taking about the Las Vegas Raiders and the No. 6 overall pick for months.
We will finally get some clarity Thursday night.
For one last time, let’s review who could the Raiders’ pick at No. 6 or if they trade down a bit.
Now, remember, no one truly expected them to Georgia tight end Brock Bowers last year, so anything can happen. But the following names are the most likely names the Raiders may pick in the first round, presented in no particular order:
Ashton Jeanty:
The Boise State running back has been the most popular pick for the Silver and Black amongst the mock-draft crowd. Plus, the Raiders have closely studied him. He could easily be the pick if he slips past the fifth pick. Yet, Las Vegas could opt to take a running back later in a deep class at the position.
Mason Graham:
It wouldn’t be a shock if the Raiders write the name of the explosive Michigan defensive tackle if he falls past the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 5. He’d be a great value and a terrific addition to the defensive front.
Will Campbell:
The LSU offensive tackle could go No. 4 to the New England Patriots, but if he falls, the Raiders would likely have a tough time bypassing on his talent. New Las Vegas general manager John Spytek loves offensive linemen and it’s not considered a deep class. He could be a replacement for Kolton Miller.

Shedeur Sanders:
Months ago, if the Raiders had a chance to take Sanders at No. 6, it would be considered a no-brainer. But the quarterback position is less than an urgency now that the Raiders have Geno Smith pegged to be the starter, at least, for the next two years. Still, until the Sanders bypass an available Sanders, this has to be considered a possibility.
Armand Membou:
There has been smoke that the Raiders love the Missouri offensive tackle. He could also perhaps be a target after slight trade down.
Will Johnson:
The Raiders have been closely studying the Michigan cornerback and they have a big need at the position. He could be a trade-down target.
Kelvin Banks:
If Las Vegas really wants an offensive tackle, the Texas product can’t be overlooked. Some scouts are very high on him, although it may be a bit of a reach at No. 6. But perhaps Banks could be a target after a trade-down move.
Tetairoa McMillan:
Wide receiver is another big area of need for the Raiders and McMillan is considered the top player at the position. It wouldn’t be a shock if he’s the pick at No. 6.
Jalon Walker:
The Georgia pass-rusher is considered a potential game-changer. If the Raiders fall in love, he could be the choice.

Jihaad Campbell:
The Raiders have a need for young linebackers and the Alabama product is considered the best pure linebacker in the draft. He could be a great choice if the Raiders trade down to the No. 15-20 range.
Jahdae Barron:
There has been speculation the Texas cornerback is a favorite of the Raiders’ brass. He is another trade-down (or up) option.
Conclusion:
We’re hours away from the draft and there is still plenty of drama involving the Raiders pick. Because they have so many needs and flexibility, any one of these players are viable fits for the Raiders.
