The Giants won’t be trading up for Cam Ward
We’re less than two days away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and we can finally — fully — close the door on the New York Giants trading up with the Tennessee Titans for Cam Ward.
Titans GM Mike Borgonzi stated in a pre-draft press conference on Tuesday that the Titans have come to a consensus to keep the first overall pick.

The expectation is that Miami quarterback Cam Ward will be the first overall pick
This isn’t really a huge surprise, however the Titans had been keeping the door open for a potential trade. At the same time, the Giants had reiterated their willingness to discuss trades.
However, it seemed as though the price for the first pick kept rising the more the Titans studied Ward.
We’ve been operating under the assumption that the Titans would stay at first overall in the hopes that Ward would be their next franchise quarterback, particularly after they canceled their workouts with the other top prospects.
It’s also likely not a coincidence that reports surfaced earlier Tuesday that the Giants are being approached regarding potential trades down. While one option is off the table, it seems the Giants are keeping all their other options open until they decide on their best one.
