The majority of fans agree with the latest mock draft trends
The 2025 NFL Draft is almost upon us, and it could be one of the most consequential drafts in recent memory for the New York Giants.
It’s no secret that the futures of Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll hang in the balance this year. And while the draft (probably) won’t be the deciding factor, it will be a big factor in determining their fate. They need the team to show progress and start building towards something and look like a team that can be consistently competitive.
FanDuel is running odds with regards to the 2025 Draft. Particularly, they’re offering odds on which position will be picked first by each team.
Without knowing the odds, we asked the Big Blue View community which position they believe the Giants will select first.
The answer is overwhelmingly “edge”.

That corresponds with the deluge of recent mock drafts connecting Penn State edge defender Abdul Carter to the Giants. Vegas agrees and has Carter as the heavy favorite (-600) to be drafted third overall.
Cornerback — in other words, Travis Hunter — came in a distant second. However, it seems unlikely that Hunter will be available at third overall after Browns GM Andrew Berry publicly compared him to LA Dodgers star two-way player Shohei Ohtani.
Here at Big Blue View, we tend to think that even if the Giants don’t draft a quarterback with their first pick, they’ll still be drafting one highly.
Even if John Mara hadn’t said that finding a quarterback of the future is a priority, it seems highly unlikely that Daboll and Schoen would let their time at the top of their professions pass without finding “Their Guy” at quarterback.
Interestingly, fans heavily believe that it will be Jalen Milroe.

Milroe might not be the quarterback most fans want the Giants to draft. But among the top quarterbacks, he’s the one most fans think will be a Giant.
Taking the two polls in the context of each other, it seems that most fans agree with the recent mock drafts that the team will select Carter at third overall, then circle back to take a quarterback from the remaining pool.
FanDuel currently has the New Orleans Saints as the team most likely to draft Sanders at +150. The Steelers are next at +390, while the Giants (+420) and Browns (+500) are “in the mix”.
It seems as though Dart and Sanders are broadly tied for “QB2” across the league, with individual team preferences deciding the order. Giants fans may believe that it could be too costly to move up to the range where one of those players could be selected.
Milroe certainly represents the highest risk of the top quarterbacks due to his development curve. However, the additions of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston means that he wouldn’t be rushed onto the field. The Giants likely wouldn’t need him to do more than occasionally serve as a Wildcat quarterback while he develops.
(And the thought of Milroe trucking Azeez Ojulari en route to a touchdown against the Eagles would certainly help fans, and John Mara, feel better about the pick.)
If he develops, however, Milroe’s upside is tremendous. In my Quarterback Deep Dive on Milroe, I compared him to Josh Allen as a prospect out of Wyoming due to their similarly incredible athletic traits, as well as their similar issues with mechanics. If Milroe is able to hit his ceiling, his traits and the Giants’ collection of skill position players could give defensive coordinators fits. That might just be worth the risk.
