Las Vegas fans were not interested in trading for San Francisco wide receiver

The Las Vegas Raiders need a top wide receiver.

The San Francisco 49ers were reportedly making top wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk available in a trade this offseason.

Oh, hey, maybe the two teams would get together on a deal. What do you say?
Well, it’s clear what many fans of the Las Vegas Raiders felt about the idea of an Aiyuk trade: “No, thank you.”

We recently asked our community members if they would be in favor of the Raiders trading for Aiyuk and the results were overwhelming.

In a poll with 737 votes cast, 589 voters (80 percent) were firmly against Las Vegas trading for Aiyuk, while just 148 voters (20 percent) thought a deal would be a good idea.

I get the overall sentiment. Yes, the Raiders need a a starting quarterback. But a trade would cost draft picks and Aiyuk is coming off of a major injury and he ahs a huge contract.

This trade idea just doesn’t make sense.

probably too much

From the look of things, we do seem to value picks more (thankfully). Given Chip’s familiarity with college players, I think that’s a good thing. My biggest concern with Aiyuk is the Littleton effect where a player doesn’t match his talented play when he’s away from his talented roster/coach. Granted, almost everybody on that offense has been off the field for an extended time so he doesn’t get a full roster often. A 30 million price tag seems high given what that midlevel receiver might deliver on a rookie salary. Especially since our goal is to run the ball.

I think your undervaluing Aiyuk. He’s probably better than any WR in this years draft.
