Giants mock draft analysis: What would Abdul Carter mean for Kayvon Thibodeaux’s future? | The Athletic
Outside of what the pass rushers could provide the Giants defense in 2025, perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this selection would be how it might affect the future. When the Giants acquired Burns, they signed him to a five-year extension worth up to $150 million, including $87.5 million guaranteed.
Thibodeaux, just 24 years old and has 21 career sacks on his resume, would be a highly desirable player should he ever reach the open market. And that could happen soon. While the Giants are likely to pick up Thibodeaux’s fifth-year option, signing him to an extension could prove tough considering what the team would already have invested at the position with Burns and Carter.

A look at the Giants’ pursuit of Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter | ESPN.com
Carter’s health is not expected to be a problem even though he was rehabbing a shoulder injury from last season up until recent weeks and a stress reaction in his foot was revealed at the NFL scouting combine. He went for a medical recheck in Indianapolis last week, and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN it “should be a nonfactor with the teams at this point.”
The shoulder kept Carter from working out for teams at the combine and pro day. But Carter would be able to work out now, if necessary, and is “100%,” Rosenhaus added. But there doesn’t appear to be a need for such a showcase at this time, and the injuries are not expected to affect his availability this upcoming season.
NFL projection model ranks all 32 rosters ahead of the draft: Why are Bears so low? | The Athletic
25. New York Giants. The Giants seem likely to add one of Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick, and getting one of the truly elite prospects in this class will go a long way to stabilizing a roster that lacks star power. While Hunter seems destined for Cleveland, he’d be a better fit than Carter for a squad that could use help at wide receiver and cornerback. Still, there shouldn’t be any complaining from Giants fans if their team scoops up Carter. While the defensive line is already solid, there’s nothing wrong with building on a strength.

How NY Giants can ace 2025 NFL Draft: 10 best-case scenarios | The Record
It’s not difficult to see how two players [Hunter and Carter] would have higher grades than Sanders or the other QBs, but Sanders or another QB would have a high enough grade for them to consider trading back up.
Then you’d have both players. The potential sweet spots for trades: Atlanta at 15, Denver at 20 and Minnesota at 24.
Pressure of finding a Giants franchise QB weighs on Joe Schoen’s fourth draft | New York Daily News
The truth is that Thursday’s trip is as much about the Giants further vetting Sanders’ makeup, leadership and coachability as it is about putting him through the Giants’ own drills. Schoen admitted that the Giants during their draft process are “wrestling with” certain prospects’ compatibility with “what we want to bring in our locker room.” He was not speaking about Sanders, just players in general, but a future franchise quarterback obviously would need to pass that test with flying colors for the Giants to feel comfortable picking him.
