The Birds are looking at yet another blocking prospect.
It’s time to add another prospect to BGN’s Philadelphia Eagles’ pre-draft visits tracker leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Birds hosted West Virginia offensive tackle Wyatt Milum at the NovaCare Complex, according to Anthony DiBona.
Milum is the No. 91 prospect ranked by Pro Football Focus.
The 23-year-old made 43 starts in 47 games played from 2021-2024. Here’s a look at his college snap counts by position, via PFF:
2021 — LG 1, RT 618
2022 — LT 851
2023 — LT 737, RT 1
2024 — LT 700
Milum was PFF’s second-highest graded Division I FBS offensive tackle last year, ranking slightly ahead of Armand Membou.
The Eagles could draft Milum late on Day 2 or early on Day 3 to potentially compete for the starting job at right guard and/or provide depth at tackle. The hope would be that Milum eventually develops into a starter, perhaps taking over for Lane Johnson in the future.
Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:
Tough, strong and assignment-oriented, Milum possesses the frame and mentality of an NFL player. It’s hard to get excited about his prospects as a tackle due to his shorter arms, but there is no reason to believe Milum can’t bump inside to guard and offer tackle depth in a pinch. He plays with heavy hands in pass protection and has ideal instincts to sniff out twists and stop them in their tracks. He’s hard to bull-rush or push around in the running game but he will slip and slide off sustain blocks at times due to a narrowing base. His physical profile, play strength and football intelligence could have him ready as an early starter for gap-scheme teams.
