Rams fans: Who will be more productive next season?
Regardless if it is fair or not, the decisions that the Los Angeles Rams organization made this offseason will pit Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams against each other for at least the next couple of seasons as fans analyze if it was worth making the swap. Who do you think will have the better season?
The argument for Davante Adams
2024 stats: 14 games, 85 receptions, 1063 yards, 8 touchdowns
Adams is joining forces with a head coach in Sean McVay that absolutely loves to pass the ball and scheme his receivers wide open which should give Adams more opportunities than he has had over his last few seasons. He will also be catching passes from one of the few elite quarterbacks in the league with Matthew Stafford under center. Stafford will be Adams’ best QB since playing with prime Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Similar to Kupp, he will not have to be the bonified number one target with Puka Nacua getting most of the attention from defensive coordinators which should leave him more space to work with than he has ever had before.
Davante Adams is up there with the best wide receivers over the past 5-10 years.
Hasn’t had a good situation since the Packer days and posted:

2023 – WR10

Kupp has not been able to stay healthy since putting together one of the greatest years by a receiver in the history of the NFL and has struggled to get open when he is on the field. He will also be in a run-first offense and will have far-less chances to make an impact than Adams.
Adams is a clear upgrade and has not had to deal with much injury in his career. His quick burst ability is still one of the best in the league and should help the Rams improve their redzone woes that have plagued them in the last couple of seasons.
The argument for Cooper Kupp
2024 stats: 12 games, 67 receptions, 710 yards, 6 touchdowns
Kupp’s preparation for both his soul and his body are unmatched as evident by many of Nacua’s stories about him struggling to keep up in offseason workouts. The former triple-crown recipient will find anything extra to fuel his fire and the Rams just gave him plenty of it when they gave Kupp no chance to return to the team during negotiations.
I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.

Despite fighting through some injury last season he was still able to show glimpses of his former self, particularly against the Detroit Lions in the season opener when he had 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown after Nacua left with a knee injury before the second half.
The former Super Bowl MVP will also have last season’s breakout receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to take some of the attention off of him. The Seattle Seahawks are a run-heavy offense but do use the rush to set up play-action that could lead to some nice explosives for Kupp.
