Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 4/11/25

Someone reportedly said that the Los Angeles Rams are looking for “impact players” and that’s no surprise, but it could be a key to how L.A. approaches the draft. It could mean that with their earlier picks they’ll get players who can start now, but they have the intention on adding players to develop later. This probably isn’t news to you, but I have to write articles and pieces every day!

They won’t all be winners, if any are.

Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Friday!

NFL scout says Rams want to ‘draft a ready-made player from a big conference’ (ramswire)

“However, ESPN’s Matt Miller was told that the Rams are focused on instant impact players rather than developmental prospects, and that idea could shape their selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“A rival scout I talked to didn’t expect Los Angeles to be active on the trade front, predicting that the team would use each of its eight picks because ‘they need young bodies,’” Miller wrote. “The Rams have shifted their philosophy to target more instant-impact players and fewer developmental prospects. The scout also added: ‘They’ll be patient and draft a ready-made player from a big conference.’”

NFL analyst questions if underrated player is in the future plans of the Los Angeles Rams past the 2025 season (atozsports)

“NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha posed one burning question for each team heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, and he is wondering if Williams factors into Los Angeles’ future plans, as well as what type of contract he will command.

“Rams GM Les Snead told reporters at the Annual League Meeting that there should be no confusion about how the Rams feel about their standout running back. They want Williams, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, to stick around Los Angeles for a long time. That really is the trick with all running backs who don’t have last names like Barkley, Henry or McCaffrey. Williams is easily the most underrated runner in the league, as he’s rushed for 2,443 yards and 26 touchdowns over the last two seasons. The question both parties need to answer is how that equates to value. Even as we’re seeing a renaissance for running backs, it’s also true that each back’s worth comes down to individual situations. Williams isn’t in the same class as Saquon Barkley, whose new deal equates to an average annual salary of $20.6 million. However, it’s easy to see him having value somewhere between Green Bay’s Josh Jacobs ($12 million annually) and Houston’s Joe Mixon ($9.875 million). – NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha”

Rams agree to terms with ILB Troy Reeder on 1-year deal (therams.com)

Reeder entered the league as an undrafted free agent signing by the Rams in 2019, and has played in 72 games for L.A., including 37 starts, since. Reeder is one of four inside linebackers currently on the roster, and he is the longest-tenured player at the position.

The L.A. Rams connect with the community through a CPR training (eventuscannenbergmedia.com)

“CPR and AED training are crucial skills taught in schools that provide students and educators with life-saving knowledge. However, without access to updated CPR training protocol or CPR kits, many athletic directors and P.E. teachers lack the resources to provide their schools with necessary training.

This morning the Los Angeles Rams and The American Heart Association collaborated to equip educators in the Los Angeles area with CPR training resources. They invited representatives from 22 Los Angeles schools to attend the event, which was hosted at Sofi Stadium — the home of the Rams. They also offered a chance for the schools to win their own AED package, which contains the automated external defibrillator itself.”
