Cincinnati among several teams interested in this mammoth Wildcat
The mountain is coming to Cincinnati.
Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea, a man-mountain who comes in at 6-foot-5 and 336 pounds, is on his way to Cincinnati for a pre-draft visit, according to Ryan Fowler. Savaiinaea also has visits scheduled with the Bears, Vikings, and Cowboys.
Savaiinaea is currently ranked 87th on PFF’s Big Board, projecting to be a third or fourth-round pick. The NFL Mock Draft Database 2025 Consensus Big Board has him listed at No. 61, fourth among interior linemen.
From the looks of things, the Bengals would be fortunate to get the Hawaii native at either spot. Savaiinaea was a three-year starter at Arizona and appeared in 35 games. In 2024, he played 345 snaps at left tackle, 364 snaps at right tackle, and even lined up as a tight end 29 times. As a freshman, Savaiinaea played 928 snaps at right guard before switching to right tackle during the 2023 season.
According to PFF, Savaiinaea’s run and pass-block grades improved each season. Last year, he finished with a 64.2 run-block grade and an 82.7 pass-block grade, allowing just four sacks across 738 snaps.
In 2023, Savaiinaea anchored an offensive line that powered the nation’s 8th-ranked passing attack. The Wildcats won 10 games that season and capped it with an Alamo Bowl victory over Oklahoma. Savaiinaea was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in both 2022 and 2023 and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2024.
