Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 4/10/25.

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Brandon Graham leaves the door open on a potential return – PFT
A wave can mean farewell. A wave can mean hello. Last month, long-time Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham waved goodbye to football. Now, he might be waving hello to a return. Appearing on the Up & Adams show, Graham said he’s “90 percent retired. . . . I’m 90 percent.” He then explained the 10 percent comes from “how much I want to continue to train the way I’m training. . . . Training to train for a game is different, but I haven’t really changed that yet. I just want to go out there and speed it up to where I wanna look good and make sure that I’m staying fit and while I’m still rehabbing my arm and making sure that when I do retire, I’m staying in the habit of that, because a lot of guys tell me that when you leave, you’ve gotta make sure you stay in the habit of working out.”

Five things we learned from Brandon Graham’s ‘New Heights’ interview, including ‘the one thing Chip Kelly had right’ – Inquirer
Chip Kelly was his best coach in one areaThe Eagles got an F in 2024-25 for team travel on the NFLPA report cards, with the survey citing that “players feel they should get first class seats on team flights instead of the coaching staff.” Graham and the Kelce brothers took the opportunity on the show to lament that Eagles players still sit in the back on team flights, which Jason Kelce, Graham, and Fletcher Cox often complained about during their tenure with the team — except under Kelly. “I used to always get out the back because I never wanted to watch all the coaches eating all these M&Ms and stuff like that,” Graham said. “Chip Kelly — the one thing Chip Kelly had right, that boy got us in the front. He was like, ‘We are coaches, they’re the players.‘“

Eagles Reacts Survey: Over or under 11.5 wins in 2025? – BGN
FanDuel Sportsbook has set the over/under marks for all 32 teams ahead of the 2025 season. There’s still plenty of time for the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster to change, especially with the 2025 NFL Draft coming up at the end of this month. Still, it’s fun to get a vibe check on the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Bowen: The Eagles should think twice, then think again before tossing away tight end Dallas Goedert – PHLY
It’s a brutal business. For a GM, paying a guy to be elite who doesn’t stay healthy and hit that target is a lot like missing on a draft pick. But Goedert WAS healthy and elite when it mattered most, the run to winning the Super Bowl. If he leaves, the Eagles would seem to be locked into drafting a TE in the first few rounds. That’s not something you want to force. I’d sure like to see this get worked out.

The state of all 32 franchises heading into the 2025 NFL Draft – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles. Remaining Starter Needs: S. Remaining Depth/Future Needs: Dl, TE, CB. C.J. Gardner-Johnson‘s trade was a bit of a surprise, given how strong his 2024 campaign was for the defending Super Bowl champions. Now, Philadelphia is left with Sydney Brown to replace him, but he’s totaled only 421 total defensive snaps in his two-year career. In turn, the Eagles should target a safety who could compete to start right away. General manager Howie Roseman will also likely look to fortify his defensive line early after Milton Williams‘ departure, although the Eagles already have a solid trio in Jalen Carter, Moro Ojomo and Jordan Davis. Dallas Goedert is also under contract for only one more year and has been reportedly floated in trades, making it seem like a reality that Philadelphia will draft a tight end. Finally, the Eagles appear to have their 2025 starting cornerbacks in order, but Adoree’ Jackson is on just a one-year deal after generating a decent 64.5 PFF coverage grade with the Giants in 2024.

Is this the year Eagles draft a safety in 1st round? – NBCSP
The Eagles are a long-standing franchise that has been drafting football players since the 1930s and they have never taken a safety in the first round. But maybe this is the year that changes. Heck, Howie Roseman already bucked a couple of trends in recent years by paying big-time money to a linebacker and a running back so maybe it’s not crazy to think about him drafting a safety late in the first round later this month. In his most recent mock draft, NFL Network’s Charles Davis had the Eagles selecting South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori with pick No. 32. Davis was a guest on the latest Takeoff with John Clark and talked about that pick and a bunch of Eagles/NFL Draft topics.

2025 NFL Draft: One burning question for each NFC team before Round 1 begins – NFL.com
BURNING QUESTION: Can the Eagles add more difference-makers to that defensive front? GM Howie Roseman has been masterful at drafting, and the success of last year’s defense was a prime example of that. Eight of the key players on that top-ranked unit were operating on rookie deals. Now Roseman needs to add to that group, especially in the trenches. As excited as the Eagles are about their young players — most notably nose tackle Jordan Davis , defensive end Jalen Carter and outside linebackers Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt — they don’t have a ton of depth in their front seven. It’s also easy to forget, after watching Philly torment Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIX, that this wasn’t a dominant pass-rushing team for most of the 2024 season. Roseman loves stockpiling defensive linemen, and this is the draft in which to do that. There is talent on the interior and on the edge, and it makes perfect sense for a team that lost some key players — including defensive end Milton Williams and edge rushers Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham — to focus on those areas in the early rounds.

Knitted art display at Singing Fountain in South Philly vandalized, but the public is rallying to restore it – PhillyVoice
But the cloth flowers and Philly sports sweaters that covered the fountain’s fixtures disappeared in the early Saturday morning. Surveillance footage captured by nearby businesses shows two women approached the fountain around 3 a.m., snipped the knitted pieces with scissors and collected them in trash bags, according to the Drunken Knitwits. The pair appeared to laugh and took photos before leaving the scene. Allison Covey, the organizer of the Philly chapter of Drunken Knitwits, said the group was “heartbroken” over the vandalism and had filed a police report. Its members have asked the vandals to return the pieces to the steps of the South Philly Yarn and Craft storefront at 1625 S. 11th St., no questions asked, so they can salvage the installation ahead of the Flavors on the Avenue street festival on Sunday, April 27. The club already had planned to add new food-themed pieces to the Singing Fountain for the event. [BLG Note: Who would cut down an Eagles sweater? Serious disrespect to the reigning Super Bowl champs.]

Ex-Commanders player trashes former team on the way out: ‘I’ve been cheated my last eight years’ – NJ.com
“The one thing you were always told in college was once you get to the NFL, the facilities aren’t nice,” he told Long. “Everything is not as nice as far as just how much money is being spent on the players in college. At one of the top programs, it’s usually the best. When I came here and I saw they had kombucha and all the drinks in the fridge and the facilities, I was like, wow—feel like I’ve been cheated in my last eight years. These guys living like this is incredible.”

2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Mel Kiper Jr has a new pick for the Washington Commanders’ defense – Hogs Haven
The NFL Draft is two weeks away, and we’ve got a fresh roundup of mock drafts to check out. Mel Kiper Jr released his latest mock draft and he’s finally given up on giving Kentucky CB Maxwell Hairston to the Washington Commanders with the 29th pick. He’s staying on defense and giving Joe Whitt Jr a new player by picking Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart for the Commanders. Defensive end is a need after Washington let last year’s sack-leader, Dante Fowler Jr, leave in free agency. They signed Deatrich Wise and Jacob Martin in free agency, but Stewart gives them a young DE that can help with their run defense and develop as a pass rusher. Kiper still wants to give the Commanders a CB, and he does thanks to Kiper’s first two-round mock for this year’s draft.

Cowboys free agency: Dallas will sign OL Saahdiq Charles to a 1-year deal – Blogging The Boys
The draft may be the thing that is on everyone’s mind in the NFL, but free agency is a year-round activity, not just a few weeks in March. The Dallas Cowboys aren’t finished in free agency, adding another name to the roster. After working out offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles a few days ago, the Cowboys will sign him to a one-year contract.

Does Shedeur Sanders really want to be drafted by the New York Giants? – Big Blue View
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders wore New York Giants-themed cleats before his team’s appearance in the Alamo Bowl. He has talked about being a Giant a number of times. He was seen dapping up Giants coach Brian Daboll at the East-West Shrine Bowl. As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, though, does Sanders really want to be a New York Giant? ESPN’s Louis Riddick doesn’t think so. In fact, Riddick told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com that he does not believe Sanders actually wants to land with any of the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns or Giants — the teams with the top three picks.

NFL Draft rumors for Steelers, Browns, Patriots, and Alabama QB 2 weeks out – SB Nation
Jalen Milroe “gaining steam” as draft approaches. Death, taxes, and mock drafts forcing quarterbacks into the first round. It is a tale as old as time. I’m old enough to remember such first-round passers as Davis Webb, Nathan Peterman, and Mason Rudolph. Dart is not the only passer to pick up some first-round buzz in recent weeks, as Alabama passer Jalen Milroe is “gaining steam” according to Jordan Schultz. Milroe has already taken a visit with the Browns and has visits with other teams such as the New York Giants, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seattle Seahawks scheduled. Schultz also reported that Milroe had private workouts with both the Browns and the Saints that were “impressive.” Our friends at Dawgs by Nature have been beating the “Milroe-to-Cleveland” drum for a long time. With the Browns picking at the top of the second round, that might be the spot for Cleveland to address QB, provided they go in a different direction at No. 2.
