Fans sorry to see middle linebacker leave
The Las Vegas Raiders have lost several players in free agency, including several starters on defense.
We recently asked our readers, after the early days of free agency, which key defensive starter would they missed the most.
To recap, they are:
- Middle linebacker Robert Spillane went to the New England Patriots on a reported three-year, $37.5 million deal.
- Safety Tre’von Moehrig went to the Carolina Panthers on a reported three-year, $51 million contract.
- Cornerback Nate Hobbs signed with the Green Bay Packers on a reported four-year, $48 million deal.
- Linebacker Divine Deablo went to the Atlanta Falcons on a reported two-year, $14 million contract.
Our vote wasn’t overly close It’s clear, the defender Las Vegas fans will most miss is linebacker Robert Spillane. In a poll with 348 votes cast, 240 votes (69 percent) indicated they will miss Spillane the most. Hobbs was second with 72 votes, Moehrig got 32 votes and Deablo garnered just four votes.
It’s not a shock at all that Spillane will be so solely missed. He was the quarterback of the defense and a high-effort player. Good luck in New England and here’s to Elandon Roberts, his replacement in Las Vegas, making fans feel a bit easier about this departure.
