Eagles add even more linemen to their pre-draft visits

Unsurprisingly, Philadelphia is looking to build through the trenches.

Time to add two more prospects to the Philadelphia Eagles’ pre-draft visits tracker leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft:

Let’s sort through this news on a player-by-player basis.

SHEMAR TURNER

Turner is the No. 55 prospect ranked by Pro Football Focus.

Playing 43 games for the Aggies, Turner logged 10 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles.

His most productive season came as a junior in 2023, when he had six sacks and 11 TFLs. The versatile defensive lineman played more on the edge than the interior that year (relative to his other seasons) before shifting inside again in 2024.

The Eagles could view Turner as a prospect who profiles as a Milton Williams replacement. They’re similarly sized and known for being versatile.

Turner was ejected for punching an Ole Miss player in the crotch during the 2023 season. He also missed the Senior Bowl due to a stress fracture in his leg. The Eagles will use this pre-draft visit to get some more information on his mental makeup and his medical status.

Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:

Three-year starter with “tweener” measurables but excellent musculation and lean mass. Turner plays with unlimited activity and a heavy dose of violence. He has a quick first step and an explosive punch. He’s capable of holding the point against single blocks or working the gaps with foot quickness. His pressure rate is hurt by a lack of length but he’s a restless rusher who hunts blockers’ edges and will eventually leak through if the play extends. His athleticism and chase quickness will see him in or near the pile with some frequency as a future starter.

DYLAN FAIRCHILD

Fairchild is the No. 196 prospect ranked by Pro Football Focus.

He made 24 starts in 28 games played from 2023-2024. The vast majority of his snaps came at left guard (1,306) but he does have a little right guard experience (119 snaps).

Fairchild is the seventh known offensive line prospect to visit the Eagles. The team could be interesting in adding him to Jeff Stoutland University.

Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:

Two-year starter who will offer more with his pass protection than his run blocking. Fairchild plays with quick hands and adequate athleticism as a move blocker. He’s big but struggles to push opponents and sustain blocks at the point of attack and wasn’t enough of a difference-maker for the run game. He’s steady in protection with decent range and active hands. He’s athletic enough to recover against counters but could have issues when matched against a good bull rush. Fairchild could go in the middle rounds and eventually become a starter.
