With the fifth pick in the Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Jaguars select…

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock in our 2025 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft.

It’s been a rough go for the Jaguars ever since it looked like they were on the precipice of becoming a new AFC powerhouse. Back in 2017, Doug Marrone led the Jaguars to an improbable run to the AFC Championship in his first year, and they took a 20-10 lead into the fourth quarterback before Tom Brady and the Patriots took over. Marrone won a total of 12 games over the next three years, the Urban Meyer fiasco ended after a full seasons, and Doug Pederson’s era came to an end in 2024 after the Jaguars never fully came together.

Now it’s Liam Coen’s turn to try to fix Duval Nation. And when it comes to fixing the team in this Community Mock Draft—where Pride of Detroit users take over as NFL general managers—it’ll be up to justwinginit to find the right match with Jacksonville’s fifth overall pick. As a reminder for who has already gone in this year’s mock draft, here’s a quick recap:

1. Titans: QB Cam Ward
2. Browns: QB Shedeur Sanders
3. Giants: WR/CB Travis Hunter
4. Patriots: WR Tetairoa McMillan

There’s plenty of talent still on the board for Jacksonville. So with the fifth pick in the POD Community Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars have selected…

Mason Graham, DT out of Michigan.

Here’s justwinginit with the explanation for the pick:

The Jags, as they are affectionately known around Duval County, FL, have a bit of an issue. Despite having several high first-round draft picks, their team doesn’t have a position group that someone would consider a strength of the team, like the Lions do with their offensive line for example. While new coach Liam Coen is an offensive mind, I believe they will look at building their best group into a powerhouse. For them, the D-line is the closest to achieving that. Former first overall pick Travon Walker and fellow top-10 pick Josh Hines Allen have the edge locked down, so I opted to pass on Abdul Carter and focus on the interior.

Enter Mason Graham. He’s the total package for today’s NFL interior lineman. Great gap control, sheds blocks easily, has multiple pass rush moves and can get after the QB. After posting back to back 90+ scores on PFF, I believe he has proven to be a high end player on the defensive side of the ball who will turn the Jags defense from below average to formidable in short order.

What are your thoughts on this pick? Grade it in the poll below, then scroll down to the comment section to discuss the selection.
