The NFL is allowing clubs to wear alternate uniforms up to four games per year now. The Bengals do not currently have a throwback uniform to wear that’s been approved by the league, but they do have an alternate orange jersey and an alternate white helmet.
Zac Taylor, Bengals Tweaking Season On-Ramp To Avoid Slow Starts
“Slow starts have kept Cincinnati from reaching its first goal every season: Winning the AFC North. Both times Cincinnati’s started at least .500 under Taylor, they’ve won the division and made an AFC Championship appearance. Starters played just one series last preseason (13 total snaps).”
Are the Bengals set at guard? Zac Taylor weighs in on future plans for the position
“One of the biggest areas of need for the Bengals this offseason is at guard after the team cut Alex Cappa. Cincinnati has openings at starting left and right guard, which is why the lack of activity in the first few days of free agency at those positions came as a bit of a surprise.”
Bengals’ offseason doesn’t look so good by this metric
“Even so, it’s just one more data point that helps to suggest, as a whole, the Bengals are possibly paying more for a similar or even worse team right now — at least before the draft.”
Zac Taylor: We want to work through Trey Hendrickson’s contract situation with him
“Hendrickson’s name isn’t always mentioned in the same breath as Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons and T.J. Watt, but Hendrickson has been as good as any pass rusher in the NFL at least the past two seasons. “Certainly, there are some people that are still not the biggest fans of it,” Schroeder said, “but an overwhelming number of membership approved it. We’re excited to have it. We think it’s a win for our fans and for Amazon moving forward.”
Jimmy Haslam: Deshaun Watson trade was “a big swing and miss,” so hold us accountable
“Haslam certainly does deserve to be held accountable for the sorry state of his franchise, and his comments raise the question of what kind of relationship the Browns will have with Watson going forward. Watson is still on the roster, but he’s unlikely to play at all in 2025, both because of his torn Achilles and because he has been awful on the field and the Browns desperately need better quarterback play.”
Packers GM, Bills HC point to player safety concerns as reason for tush push ban
“Visually, the play — a modified version of the quarterback sneak in which one or multiple teammates immediately push the ball-carrier forward — is a bit of a throwback to the earliest days of football in which the sport resembled rugby more than the game we now recognize. The nature of what is essentially a strategically choreographed scrum can be seen as potentially hazardous, even without a substantial amount of historical data to back such a claim.”
No shortage of teams looking for quarterbacks on rookie deals.
