The Linc – ESPN will be releasing a documentary series on the Super Bowl LIX losing Chiefs

The Linc – ESPN will be releasing a documentary series on the Super Bowl LIX losing Chiefs

Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 3/29/25.

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

ESPN to release behind-the-scenes Chiefs documentary made by the same team as ‘The Last Dance’ – Daily Mail
ESPN has announced it is developing a new behind-the-scenes documentary series focusing on the Kansas City Chiefs. The network revealed the series will be produced by ‘much of the team’ behind the smash-hit Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls documentary ‘The Last Dance’. The crew was given extensive access to Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and their teammates during the 2024 NFL season, when they were trying to make NFL history with a third successive Super Bowl win. However, the year ended in heartbreak for Kansas City after a crushing 40-22 Super Bowl defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans. The six-episode docuseries is expected to premiere later this year on both ESPN and Disney+.

Eagles to host UCLA edge rusher on pre-draft visit – BGN
Time to add another prospect to BGN’s Philadelphia Eagles’ pre-draft visits tracker leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft. The Birds will soon be hosting UCLA edge rusher Oluwafemi Oladejo at the NovaCare Complex, according to himself (via The Draft Network’s Justin Melo). Oladejo is the No. 111 prospect ranked by Pro Football Focus. The 21-year-old originally played for Cal from 2021-2022 before transferring to UCLA. He changed positions from off-ball linebacker to edge rusher (a reverse Zack Baun, if you will) during the 2024 season. Oladejo finished last year with 14 TFLs and 4.5 sacks.

Eagles mailbag: How do Super Bowl winners perform the following season? – PhillyVoice
Question from @ledatru (via Threads): Does Vic Fangio like Sydney Brown? It feels like Fangio kept him off the field at all costs. Fans have speculated that it was because he was recovering from an ACL tear, but is there any truth to that? Well, as a matter of fact, Brown was still recovering from his ACL tear to start the season. He started the season on the PUP list and missed the first five games. Having said that, it’s also concerning that as the season progressed Tristin McCollum was the first safety off the bench whenever anyone went down, and it’s not as if McCollum was crushing it when he got his opportunities. Brown is entering his third season. He showed some legitimate promise as a rookie in 2023. He’ll be healthy for camp this year, which could help in terms of Fangio’s trust in him.

Eagles’ A.J. Brown offers some self-help advice to his young son: ‘It’s going to hurt to be great’ – Inquirer
“It’s all right,” said Brown, whose first love was baseball and led to the San Diego Padres drafting him in the 19th round in 2016. “It’s going to hurt to be great. It’s going to be OK though, you understand? You’ve got to grind for it, that’s your first lesson. You understand it’s going to hurt, it hurts to be great, son. She’s going to be there for lunch and dinner. We’re homeschooling, no parties, no girls, no friends, no nothing, just baseball, you got it?”

Competition Committee’s position on team proposals will be finalized on Sunday – PFT
On Sunday afternoon, the Competition Committee will meet to finalize its stance on the team proposals. The most significant team proposal comes from the Packers, who have proposed new language that would impact, but not eliminate, the “tush push.” The Lions have proposed an overhaul of the playoff seeding system to remove the guaranteed home game for division winners. The Lions also want to eliminate the automatic first down for defensive holding and illegal contact. Also, the Eagles have proposed that regular-season overtime match postseason overtime, with both teams getting a guaranteed possession — and with the time expanded from 10 minutes to 15.

2024 AGL Totals by Position, from Lions Edge to Saints Wideouts – FTN Fantasy
Denver, Philadelphia, and the Los Angeles Rams had no injuries to major running backs. […] Nine teams were below 1.0 AGL for interior defensive line, including Jacksonville which rounded to 0.0 AGL. Philadelphia had 0.1 AGL and Denver had 0.2 AGL. […] Minnesota (1.9) had the fewest AGL for defensive backs followed by Philadelphia (2.9), Baltimore (3.4), and Pittsburgh (3.7).

Raiders sign veteran linebacker – Silver And Black Pride
Last week, the Raiders signed Christian Elliss of the Patriots to a two-year, $13.5 million restricted free agency offer sheet. The Patriots matched it Monday. With Roberts and Devin White signing one-year deals, expect the Raiders to still look at the draft in the early rounds for linebacker help. They also have young linebacker Tommy Eichenberg, Amari Burney and Amari Gainer, who could get a chance to develop. While White had early success with Tampa Bay, he has become a journeyman and a role player in recent seasons. White, 27, played with Houston in 2024 and had one start in seven games played. He signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia last year, but never played there. For his career, White has played in 83 regular-season games with 76 starts.

3 veteran QBs the Cowboys might add to their backup competition – Blogging The Boys
After spending most of the last eight seasons as the Cowboys’ backup quarterback, Cooper Rush is now a Baltimore Raven. Dallas hasn’t really addressed his departure yet with an offseason move, but there are still some veteran free agents who could find their way into the competition. Dallas did retain Will Grier from last year’s practice squad. He’s the lead candidate to be Dak Prescott’s backup right now, but only because there isn’t another QB under contract. In addition to Rush’s defection, Trey Lance remains unsigned in his own free agency. There is talk of Lance moving to the Canadian Football League this spring but it’s only in the earliest of stages. Right now, it feels like the Cowboys are waiting for the draft to make any notable addition to their QB depth chart. Even if they don’t take one on Thursday or Friday night, Dallas still has three fifth-round picks and four more in the final two rounds to use on a passer. They may even be tempted in the third round depending on who’s available, leaving so many options open.

Do the New York Giants really love Shedeur Sanders? Maybe, maybe not – Big Blue View
ESPN’s Matt Miller reported on Friday that he still believes the New York Giants will select Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 in the 2025 NFL Draft and that a scout told him “New York loving Shedeur is the worst-kept secret in the league right now.” [ESPN Insider] Jordan Reid added that “finding a young QB is still at the top of the priority list for the Giants.” I fully believe Reid is right that the Giants will be selecting a potential quarterback of the future, at the least a rookie who gives them an option, in the upcoming draft. Will it be Sanders? I think that ball is firmly up in the air and whether it lands on “yes” or “no” — if the Giants even have the opportunity to select Sanders — has yet to be determined.

Kirk Cousins is holding the Falcons hostage, and their inactivity is making it worse – SB Nation
The Atlanta Falcons screwed this up royally. A year ago the organization decided to go all-in with Kirk Cousins, operating under the misguided belief that the team was simply a quarterback away from contending for a Super Bowl. Now they boast the league’s most-expensive backup, and it’s unclear if they really have a plan for the future. If the Falcons decide it’s best to move on from the QB then the best they can hope for is a team (more specifically the Cleveland Browns), coming in and taking Cousins off their hands for a late-round pick swap. This would take money off their books, while also removing Cousins’ shadow from behind Michael Penix Jr.
