Las Vegas fans are pleased with new starting quarterback
The biggest news and biggest move of the Las Vegas Raiders’ offseason so far was their trade for Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks.
In the veteran Smith, the Raiders got an upgrade at the most important position on the field and they answered their biggest need.
And, for the most part, fans of the franchise are satisfied with the major move.
Shortly after the trade was made, we asked our community members how they felt about the Smith trade. The vibe is good.
In an extremely active poll with 2,859 votes cast, 1,628 voters (57 percent) are in favor of the Raiders getting Smith to be their quarterback, while 1,231 voters (43 percent) aren’t in favor of the deal that brought Smith, who will turn 35 during the season, for a third-round pick (No. 92 overall).
The trade reunites Smith with his former Seattle head coach Pete Carroll, who is in his first year with the Raiders.
I get that most fans are in favor of this move. Smith solves the Raiders’ quarterback issue for now and in a league where quality veteran starting quarterbacks are difficult to come by, the Raiders could do a lot worse than Smith this season.
