Will there be anymore signings?
I expect a few more signings with one being at the QB position obviously. Maybe a safety and tight end as well. What positions do you think they still might add another player?

J.J. McCarthy: Vikings haven’t told me I’m the starter
Word earlier this month that the Vikings are not currently pursuing Aaron Rodgers was accompanied by word that they’ve told other teams they are prepared to move forward with J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback.
McCarthy hasn’t received the same message from the team at this point. During an appearance on Up and Adams, McCarthy was asked when he was informed that the Vikings see him as their No. 1 quarterback and he said that there has been no such conversation at this point.
The 2024 first-round pick also said that he’s happy with the current state of affairs.
“They haven’t told me,” McCarthy said. “I’m happy they didn’t because I try to earn it every single day. I never want that to be given to me. It’s such a privilege and opportunity to give me that chance and I’m just gonna make the most of it every single day.”
Note: Love that EF Hutton attitude!
Vikings announce press conference with GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah this week
Adofo-Mensah has a presser every year around this time to discuss the team’s activity in free agency and provide an update on the offseason (in past years, it’s happened even earlier in March). This setting will be an opportunity for the Vikings’ GM to recap a busy couple weeks, in which the team added a dozen new players in free agency, including big names like Jonathan Allen, Javon Hargrave, Ryan Kelly, and Will Fries. The Vikings also traded for Jordan Mason and retained some key in-house pieces in Byron Murphy Jr., Aaron Jones, and Harrison Smith.
Selecting Revel in the first round fits what Adofo-Mensah has been trying to do over the last few years: buy low on an injured player with high upside. He’s an excellent player with size, length, and great movement skills. It could be a huge win for the Vikings to make the move.
Vikings Show Interest in Freak Athlete WR Who Benched 400 Pounds
Minnesota Star Tribune beat reporter Ben Goessling reported on Sunday, March 23, that the Vikings met with Baylor wide receiver Monaray Baldwin at the Big 12 Pro Day. At 5-foot-9, Baldwin’s 4.32-second 40-time at the pro day was impressive — but speed is a given at that position.
Coming in at No. 42 on Feldman’s “Freak List” for the 2024 college football season, Baldwin is known for his strength and explosiveness, notably benching 400 pounds — the weight of a refrigerator or a motorcycle — in 2023.
“He’s up to 168 pounds from 164 on his 5-9 frame. Baldwin, No. 42 on last year’s Freaks List, didn’t bench 400 pounds like he did in 2023, but 365 is still more than double his body weight,” Feldman wrote. “His GPS speed is up to 23.16 mph. In 2023, Baldwin had four touchdowns and led the Bears in receptions (38) and receiving yards (623).”
SMU running back Brashard Smith to visit Texans, Vikings, Bears as well as locally with Cowboys
SMU running back Brashard Smith has a visit with the Texans in addition to the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.
An All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection, Smith rushed for 1,332 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. He caught 39 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns. He never fumbled in his college career.
Report: Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is on ‘priority list’ for Vikings
As we inch closer to this year’s NFL draft, the rumors are only getting stronger and the Vikings seem to have interest in Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon. The Minnesota Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling is hearing that Harmon is a prospect on the Vikings’ “priority list.”
On the latest episode of the Access Vikings podcast, Goessling was joined by Andrew Krammer and Emily Leiker to discuss Minnesota’s offseason and potential draft plans, and Harmon’s name was a point of discussion.
“I heard that again this week,” Goessling said when discussing Harmon as a player on Minnesota’s “priority list.”

Insider Reveals Why Steelers Lost Out on QB Sam Darnold
According to Sports Illustrated insider Albert Breer, it wasn’t really about money and more so due to the fact that Pittsburgh was unwilling to grant Darnold the franchise quarterback label, which the Seahawks clearly were.
“That brings us to what appealed about the Seahawks to Darnold, and that was that he’d legitimately get time to prove himself as a viable long-term option for a team,” Breer wrote. “There was doubt he’d get that with the Minnesota Vikings, and negotiations with the Pittsburgh Steelers gave him no assurance of it, either. The Seahawks are going to give him every chance to be that guy.”
