Sounds like the All-Pro isn’t going anywhere until 2026 at the earliest.
It would appear Trey Hendrickson will either be playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2025 or no one at all.
According to Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, a trade is now considered “off the table” for the Bengals as they look to hammer out a new contract for their All-Pro defender.
Hendrickson is entering the final year of his contract and has been adamant about getting a new deal done in Cincinnati. However, the team’s focus this offseason was getting Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins re-signed.
Since those deals got done, there’s been growing optimism within the Bengals organization that an extension will get ironed out for Hendrickson, who threatened to retire if he didn’t get a new deal in 2024, but we saw how that played out.
Let’s hope this gets done before the NFL Draft kicks off next month so that the Bengals’ focus can be on that.
Here’s the latest on where things stand between the #Bengals and Trey Hendrickson: The idea of a trade appears dead, and the Bengals would love to complete a sweep of paying all their key players.
