Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 3/22/24
The Los Angeles Rams re-signed Ahkello Witherspoon, and I think it’s a great move, but do you think that Witherspoon will earn a contract extension this year? There is no way to know what the future holds, so maybe this isn’t a fair question, but I think it’s a fun one!
I also think this is a topic that can be brought up again later in the year as this is the type of topic that will depend on Witherspoon’s play, unless he gets some type of extension before the season starts.
Please comment on whatever you want, hope you had a great Friday and happy Saturday!
Can Witherspoon Reach New Career High in Year 3 With Rams? (si.com)
“In 2023, Witherspoon collected 52 total tackles in a full 17 games played with the franchise, setting a career high in both of those areas. He also secured himself a career high 43 solo tackles, three interceptions, and 14 passes defended.
Last season did see a small step back in production from Witherspoon, but not enough to have the franchise move on from him this offseason. Last campaign, in 13 games, the veteran cornerback collected 31 total tackles, which is more than what he has averaged over his eight year NFL career.”

2 New Los Angeles Rams Contracts Make NFL History (lafbnetwork)
“The Los Angeles Rams made their share of waves in this year’s initial free-agency period adding Davante Adams and Poona Ford, but by in-large, these moves were modest in comparison to some of the other deals done over the last few days.
While modest, the Rams were able to etch some contracts into the NFL’s history books.”

Rams select Texas star in latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft (sportingnews)
“The Los Angeles Rams have had a noteworthy offseason. While they informed Cooper Kupp he would be playing elsewhere – and he now is after the Rams released him and he signed with the rival Seattle Seahawks – they added star receiver Davante Adams to put on the boundary opposite Puka Nacua.
With that in mind, the defensive side of the ball for the Rams needs some attention – specifically in the secondary at cornerback. Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda has them landing one of the top stars at the position in the 2025 NFL Draft, predicting Los Angeles to select Texas star Jahdae Barron.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Newest Rams Draft Post Free Agency (By JeffinBranson on Mar 21, 2025)
“It’s a little easier to do a mock draft after the Rams signed some free agents. They don’t need to go WR first anymore, although they still should draft one. They also don’t necessarily need an OT, but if a starting quality LT is suddenly there at their first pick, they almost HAVE to. I traded down three times in this draft, and came away with a haul….a future starting left tackle, a starting cornerback and linebacker and possible future quarterback, and a starting tight end. Also got interior offensive line depth and both a fast receiver and a fast, electric running back. If we can get anywhere close to this in our real draft, I’ll be dancing in the streets.
