Another addition on the offensive line
The Minnesota Vikings continued their revamp of the offensive line with the signing of a player who could be a key backup depending on things shake out.
The Vikings have announced that they have agreed to terms on a deal with offensive tackle Justin Skule. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Skule was a sixth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Vanderbilt. Between the 2019 and 2020 seasons, he appeared in 12 games with the Niners, including four starts. He then missed the entire 2021 season after tearing an ACL during training camp.
Skule was released by the Niners during the 2022 preseason and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad. He appeared in just one game for the Bucs in 2022 but played in all of their games over the past two seasons, including five starts.
If you’re wondering about the pronunciation of his name, it’s pronounced like “school” rather than “Skol.” The latter would have been pretty awesome but, unfortunately, it’s not pronounced that way.
Welcome to Minnesota, Justin!
