The Bengals need to replace Alex Cappa at right guard and potentially bring in competition for left guard Cordell Volson.
Another day is soon to be behind the Cincinnati Bengals, and they still have not signed any offensive guards in free agency.
The Bengals released former right guard Alex Cappa before the legal tampering period for free agency started, but there is still not a new right guard on the roster to replace him.
In addition, a case can be easily rationed to bring in competition for left guard Cordell Volson.
Unfortunately, the wait to sign multiple guards in free agency will continue at least another day for Bengals fans. Super Bowl champion guard Mekhi Becton is not a player the Bengals are interested in signing, according to Cincinnati Enquirer Bengals beat writer Kelsey Conway.
As the Bengals search for a starting guard continues, I can report that Mekhi Becton isn’t an option as of right now.
After years of linking him to the Bengals, it doesn’t appear to be a fit on either side.
The team is interested in Teven Jenkins, but he has other suitors.…

Not only that, but former Bengals guard Kevin Zeitler is now heading to Nashville. Zeitler and the Tennessee Titans are in agreement on a one-year, $9 million deal.
It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since the Bengals went for the jugular on the offensive line in free agency, signing the aforementioned Cappa, center Ted Karras, and right tackle La’El Collins in 2022. The Bengals front office knew they needed to address the offensive line, and they went at it SWINGING.
That’s what makes this week frustrating.
It was reported earlier this week that the Bengals are interested in Chicago Bears guard Teven Jenkins. Great, but can they potentially outbid the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks for him?
It’s worth noting, though, that the Bengals had a quiet first few days of free agency two years ago. Then, later in that week, they signed Orlando Brown Jr. during the midnight hour and sent shockwaves throughout the NFL.
Could that kind of timeline repeat itself? There’s still hope, but it’s dwindling fast as more and more names come off the board.
