Other Giant observations
Giants running out of options while they’re stuck in quarterback holding pattern | New York Post
If the Giants miss out on Rodgers and Wilson, a player who might interest them is Joe Flacco. The 40-year-old played decently last season for the Colts, going 2-4 in six starts with 12 touchdown passes, seven interceptions and a passer rating of 90.5.

NFL free agency: The 6 best bargains of 2025 legal tampering period | For the Win
Jevon Holland, who signed for less in 2025 than Xavier McKinney the year before, is a chameleon on the back end, closing quickly to take big throws off the board – a number backed by his -11.4 completion percentage over expected (CPOE) in 2024 – a top-four mark among safeties. While that comes with a bit more boom/bust tendencies than you’d like (especially for a player who went without an interception last season), it’s still a significant upgrade for a team with a dire need.
And, again, it’s an inexpensive one. Holland can add support in both phases of the defense and has All-Pro upside but his $15.1 million annual average salary ranks only eighth among NFL safeties.

According to Pro Football Focus, the best available free agent QBs are Russell Wilson (the 45th ranked free agent), Jameis Winston (84th), and Mason Rudolph (169th) as well as Joe Flacco and Mac Jones. None of these exactly scream “franchise savior.”
Chris Russo closes door on Giants taking Shedeur Sanders with No. 3 overall pick of 2025 NFL Draft | Sportskeeda
“I don’t think Sanders is the option for the Giants. I really don’t. Now, this is just me—I have no idea,” said Russo. “ I’m just throwing it out there, Stevie. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think the Giants right now are in a very different situation—they’re in a rut. But I don’t think Sanders will be in New York at the end of the draft.”

How ‘Hard Knocks’ fallout scared rest of NFL from following in Giants’ bumbling footsteps | New York Post
Where is the heartfelt “thank you’’ from the other 31 teams in the NFL? Where is the appreciation for what the Giants undertook that saved the rest of the league from all the scrutiny and subsequent grief?
How about a “way to go’’ to Joe Schoen from all the other general managers for being the first — and, as for now, last — executive to bare his soul to the world and open a window into the inner-workings of an NFL offseason?
