Rams agree to terms with Chargers defensive lineman Poona Ford
The Los Angeles Rams continue to add in the trenches on the opening day of legal tampering in NFL free agency. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Rams are signing former Chargers defensive lineman Poona Ford. The deal for Ford in for three years ad comes just under $30 millions with $17 million guaranteed.

Coming into the offseason, the Rams needed to add a run-stopping defensive lineman in the trenches. That was the case especially with Bobby Brown III likely on his way out. Last season, Ford was the sixth-highest graded run defender via PFF. While stopping the run is his specialty, does bring some pass-rush upside. The former Charger had 24 pressures last season.
Ford returns to the NFC West as he spent the first five years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before one-year stints with the Buffalo Bills and Chargers. The Rams have filled three big needs on the opening days of free agency after signing wide receiver Davante Adams, adding Coleman Shelton for interior offensive line depth, and now signing a run-stopping interior defensive lineman.
