Miami Dolphins Players That Let You Down

Last week, I asked a question that our very own Yarganaught suggested.

Which player currently on the roster has yet to live up to your expectations when added to the Dolphins roster?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

Alley Gator has a few guys who haven’t met his expectations on the offensive side of the game. I agree, especially about Waddle, who needs to step up now that he’s received the big contract.

1. Isaih Wynn. I don’t know why I expected anything since he’s played half years since back when the Patriots drafted him. Mosty I’d say I was smoking the hopium, so we wouldn’t have to count on Jones and Eich at guards.

2. Jaylen Waddle. I thought he’d be able to step up with Tyreek Hill having a bum wrist, but he played worse instead of better.

Dolfanjoe was hoping for a lot more from the backup QB.

Tyler Huntley was my biggest disappointment. I had hopes that with time he would develop well with the weapons we had. Also his running ability would help even things out. This never really happened and maybe he is just not that good ! Was hoping for better, just never happened.

SuperG! thought the former great WR could bring it one more time for Miami.

Easy answer for me and I’m not sure if there’s a close second. OBJ was my disappointment. I was excited when they added him as WR3 on the cheap, but he was easily the biggest dud of the year. He’s this year’s Chase Claypool, Robbie Chosen, Will Fuller, etc.

MIAMI235 is disappointed in the team’s fullback. I would say don’t give up on him yet. Let’s see if they can build a good enough line that anyone can run behind first.

Ingold. Highest paid RB. Team struggles in short yardage, and no meaningful play that got us holes for a 1k yard back, etc.

MiMiami believes that our starting QB is not living up to his draft status nor the giant deal he was handed before last season.

Tua. No divisional titles or playoff wins. Awful reputation against the better teams. Its year 5 and I would have expected way more, by now.

Bill Moody is not impressed with the guard.

Eichenberg

DalFinsFan chose Holland, whom, until I find out otherwise, I suspect will be gone (at least as of this post’s writing).

Holland complained about Fangio and then did nothing under Weaver in a free agent year. Cam Smith gets an honorable mention, but, like JWright, actually have to underperform on the field to be considered a disappointment

dedstrk316 is going with the speedster, who had a subpar last season.

Currently on the roster? For last year? I’ll take Hill. Sure there were people that did much less than he did but considering what he was paid, how he’s a captain, and how much he talks I’ll take Hill. It would really be Holland but everybody is picking him so I’ll be different.

Yarganaught recognized his brilliance and is disappointed with Cam Smith and Channing Tindall. For the record, I also went into last season thinking this must be the season these guys will begin to pay dividends. I guess some guys are just never able to adjust to the NFL.

What a BRILLIANT question!!!

I have to think it’s someone like Cam Smith or Channing Tindall based on their Draft and still sucking up spots on the roster. Unlike someone like Tanner Connor who is still on the team, but was an UDFA. But year in, and year out, I have wondered if this was going to be their year to show something on the field.

Thomas23059 went with Eichenberg for his inconsistency.

I guess he won’t be on the roster for long, but I would say Liam Eichenberg. He was called the most pro-ready tackle in the 2021 draft, but has never lived up to that. In 2022, when he got hurt, McDaniel and Grier said that the timing was a real shame because he had started to play better. And then in 2024 he was supposed to take a big step forward because he would be concentrating on just one position. And he actually did look better for a while, but his play really slipped when Jackson got hurt. I love his attitude. I love that he gets under the defender’s skin and gets them to make stupid mistakes. I love that he doesn’t come out, even when he is hurt, at least most of the time. But he is just too inconsistent. He has good plays and he has terrible plays. You just can’t rely on him to play week in and week out.

SlayerNation1 is another out on Holland. I can’t argue his points. The one skill a safety needs to have outside of being able to cover guys is actually to be able to tackle.

Holland. When You juxtapose His Draft position, potential shown as a Rookie, frailty, and how little He impacts games.

He runs His mouth at an All-Pro level, always the malcontent, yet average something like 1.25 sacks and 1.25 interceptions per season.

He will dispel the myth that potential FAs are required to put “good film” out there to potential suitors. He was a low effort liability in 2024 and will still get paid as a high echelon game changing Safety.

Yes, the culture is unsatisfactory for professional tackle football, but this guy did nothing to help that.

Thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our Question Of The Day. I don’t know if we will get much traffic on this post this evening with the flood of other NFL news today but we will return tomorrow evening with another post.
