The Dolphins return a depth piece to their roster for 2025.
The Miami Dolphins announced the re-signing of defensive lineman Matt Dickerson on Monday. The team made the move as the negotiating period – also known as the “legal tampering period” – opened for the NFL’s 2025 free agency period. Dickerson returns to the team after joining the team as a practice squad addition during the 2024 season.
Dickerson originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018, signed by the Tennessee Titans. Along with his first three years with the Titans, Dickerson has spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Atlanta Falcons. He has appeared in 40 games during his career, including four last season with the Dolphins, recording 42 tackles.
The Dolphins have been quiet in the early part of the negotiating period. The team has cap space to make free agent signings, but they have enough holes that they are likely not going to make a major splash signing early in the free agency period.
The negotiating period began at 12 p.m. Eastern on Monday and continues until the start o the signing period and new league year on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
