Reserve linebacker will compete for fourth season with Giants
Reserve edge defender Tomon Fox will sign his Exclusive Rights Free Agent tender to return to the New York Giants, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
That tender is worth the minimum $1.030 million with no guaranteed money.
Fox, a former undrafted free agent out of North Carolina, has spent three seasons either on the Giants’ 53-man roster or practice squad.
In 28 games over those three seasons, the 27-year-old Fox has 2.0 sacks, 39 tackles and 4 quarterback hits.
The Giants could lose third edge defender Azeez Ojulari in free agency. If that happens, the Giants will need to add to the position. Signing Fox, though, adds some depth entering the spring.
New York has made a couple of small moves this week as the team begins constructing it’s 90-man roster. Long-snapper Casey Kreiter was re-signed, and quarterback Tommy DeVito reportedly agreed to sign his ERFA tender.
The free agency negotiating window opens on Monday. By Wednesday afternoon when the signing period begins, we should know many of the major moves.
