Random Ramsdom: Aaron Rodgers may have been cheap

Random Ramsdom: Aaron Rodgers may have been cheap

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 3/6/25

I am of the thinking that the Los Angeles Rams made the right call sticking with Matthew Stafford, and I have to admit the idea of L.A. gaining draft picks for moving Stafford while signing Aaron Rodgers for less sounded neat too. Apparently, Rodgers may have considered signing with the Rams for very cheap. You can read more about it below.

Look, the Rams are rolling with Stafford and I love it, but the truth is that if he gets hurt, or if his play declines, then people may bring back up the idea that L.A. could’ve rolled with Rodgers. Maybe some will even say they should have.

It’s been a wild offseason so far with more to come, I am sure.

Please comment on whatever you want, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Thursday! Friday is coming.

Future Hall of Famer Wanted to Join Los Angeles Rams at Bargain Rate (labfnetwork)

“According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers had an interest in returning to his home state of California to join the Rams this offseason.

“Rumors were he was willing to take a deep discount to play for the Los Angeles Rams, maybe as little as $10 million—with proximity to his home in Malibu and the presence of Sean McVay and a contending team being powerful lures.”

Matthew Stafford Rumors: Teams Feel Rams ‘Know Something That We Don’t Know’ About QB (bleacherreport)

“Stafford is under contract for two more years, but Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday the team would continue negotiating the deal on a yearly basis.

“I had somebody that was poking around on this… they feel like the Rams know something that we don’t know, and I feel like teams feel that way,” Russini told Chase Daniel at the 13:20 mark of Tuesday’s Scoop City podcast.

Russini continued: “Why are you not giving him two years? What is it? It has to be an injury thing.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: (Day 1 of the combine) Players I thought stood out during on field drills (By WesCoastRams! on Feb 28, 2025)

“The Defensive lineman I thought stood out watching the combine from home;

Joshua Farmer 6’3 305, I clocked his 40 @ 5.03, He looked great in the circle & towel drill, got low & moved really well in most of the on field work

Elijah Simmons 6’1 334 & I clocked him @ 5.23 and he had clean form and movement running his 40 & on field drills. One of the bigger guys out there, but he moved better than most others.. I’m definitely gonna have to check out his tape! *(He doesn’t have much production but he is a good looking athlete for his size nonetheless).

Tyliek Williams 6’3 334, He didn’t run the 40 but his speed & ability to move, really stood out during the on-field work.. Everything seemed easy/natural for him.

Other DL i thought moved really well during the on field drills

Aeneas Peebles 6’ 280, I clocked him @ 4.81/4.86 Explosive, agile, and showed good body control in most on field drills

JJ Pegues 6’2 309, I clocked him @ 5.09 translated to the on field drills

Nazir Stackhouse 6’3 327, I clocked him @5.06 translated to the on field drills

CJ West 6’ 316, clocked him @ 4.88 translated to the on field drills

The Edges & Defensive EndsI thought stood out during on the field drills

Oluwafeni Oladego 6’3 259, Probably moved the best out of all the DE’s imo, explosive, good feet, and showed great bodily control in all of the drills.

Jack Sawyer 6’4 260, Moved really well and made most drills look pretty easy. You can tell he’s a refined athlete.

Other DE/Edges that looked good on the field

James Pierce Jr 6’5 245, I clocked his 2nd run @ 4.39, looked like a DB during some of the drills

David Walker 6’ 263, I clocked him 4.56 and he also made all the on field work look easy.

The LB’s that stood out

Jihaad Campbell 6’2 235 & I clocked him @ 4.44. He was the best looking player during the on-field workouts with great agility, speed and body control.

Demetrius Knight 6’1 235 & I also clocked him @ 4.44. Looked good on the field, good movement comes naturally for him.

Danny Stutsman 6’3 233, I clocked him @ 4.43/4.46, and it translated over to the field. Like the other 2 LB’s, agile & precise movements were 2nd nature.

Jeffrey Bassa 6’1 232, who i clocked at 4.48/4.51 was another LB i thought looked solid on the field with good fluidity, lateral movement & speed.”

(Day 2 & 3 of the combine) Players I thought stood out during the on field drills (By WesCoastRams! on Mar 2, 2025)

“Cornerbacks

Darien Porter 6’2 195, Outside of being one of the fastest players I clocked in the 40.. he showed explosiveness, agile feet & great fluidity during most, if not all of the On-field drills.

https://youtu.be/Hrer5t38MDY?si=K1YGA3DqH7GVqpPH

Denzel Burke 5’11 186, He was quick, agile , and showed great body control during the on-field drills.. Looking at some of his highlights it makes sense, because he’s either breathing in the face of a bunch of WR’s, or on their neck..

https://youtu.be/SZaOj_YNtGI?si=HayZOCYPXd6PAaDU

Maxwell Hairston 5’11 183 Besides the ultra-fast 40, Hairston was solid throughout the on-field work and definitely moved himself up the draft boards imo..

https://youtu.be/BEzvtG6YzFM?si=HUJ9sRhSw076z3lG

Caleb Ransaw 5’11 197 Excelled at every drill, showing good feet & hip movement to go along with a good 40.

https://youtu.be/PxS0CMxiTzA?si=hV-PV8DctE7vICUs

(Spanish, but only highlights i could find)

Safeties

Malaki Starks 6’1 197 Showed the best movements & fluidity compared to all other safeties throughout the on field drills, he showed good hip movement, great acceleration after change of direction, all in all showing exactly why he is the cream of the crop.

https://youtu.be/mfT13iE8XpU?si=JX4Ax3NNVYYdNeoy

Lanthan Ransom 6’ 206 Had good agility & feet throughout the on field drills and looked good during the gauntlet, all while being one of the bigger looking guys out there.

https://youtu.be/UjfUik9Uof4?si=Cf43M0nG2978m1Yy

Runningbacks

Tahj Brooks 5’9 214 Showed good feet and moved as good as anyone in the RB drills

https://youtu.be/4dTFSMvgkK4?si=eUwIM65iaJ2Uf-sZ

Quinshon Judkins 5’11 221 The good sized “strength” back showed great agility & quickness on the field, to go along with a great 40.

https://youtu.be/ZII1VursSYI?si=56zSA5Oh_nuWBdDY

Wide Receivers

Jimmy Horn Jr 5’8 174 The most polished WR on the field, reminds of Tank Dell when he was at the combine, fast, explosive, precise, fluent & skilled.

https://youtu.be/qwBz851QplQ?si=-lLxK1OaJml-FYpl

Jaylin Noel 5’10 194 He was clean, precise, and probably the most explosive guy throughout the on field drills in my opinion.. Looks extremely polished, reminding me of Ladd.. I compare him to a more explosive & refined Golden Tate.

https://youtu.be/VfX3znm1s1U?si=DzWFsxT8dbMOzZEs

Daquon Felton 6’5 213 A smooth, strong runner who kinda reminded me of a Dez Bryant & TO on the field.. He looked good during most drills and showed an explosive strength about him.

https://youtu.be/KFIUUpPIqIw?si=QrZrX10Tka-sNzv4

Arian Smith 6’0 179 Smith looked like one of the smoothest movers on the field & made catches look easy.

Honorable Mentions

RB Kyle Monangai 5’8 211, Showed good feet & movement throughout the drills though he had a slower 40 time.
