The NFL concluded its annual scouting combine in Indianapolis this past weekend. Like all 32 NFL teams, our Miami Dolphins sent their general manager and coaching staff to observe players during workouts and interview individual prospects. For most teams, the players they choose to interview tend to give you insight into who they might be looking to draft come the end of April. I don’t know that this has always applied to the Dolphins.
In years past, the Phins have spent time with players that they seemingly passed over for other selections. I am unsure if this is the team trying to throw up smoke screens to confuse other teams or if they see another player fall that they prefer. But there are times they have taken guys they spent a lot of time with, so who knows? One thing I can say is that this front office has often confused every one of us.
Our own Jacob Mendel wrote two posts this past weekend highlighting 10 of the players that Miami met with at the combine. Please visit those two posts to see a complete description of each player. In his first post (HERE), he featured the following players-
- Ollie Gordon II, RB, Oklahoma State
- Xavier Restrepo, WR, University of Miami
- Tyler Baron, DE, University of Miami
- Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State
- Gunner Helm, TE, University of Texas
In Jacob’s second post on player visits (HERE), he featured the following players-
- Malaki Starks, S, University Of Georgia
- Armand Membou, OT, University of Missouri
- Will Johnson, CB, Univesity of Michigan
- Charles Grant, OT, William & Mary

Outside of those ten payers, Miami also met with-
Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

Gabriel’s complete NFL draft profile can be seen HERE.
So tonight’s Phinsider Question of the Day is: Among the players that Miami is reported to have met with, which of these prospects would you like to see the team make a concerted effort to draft at some point during the draft?
If you know of any players that the Dolphins may have met with but that I missed, please feel free to let us know in the comments below, along with your thoughts on that individual player as they apply to our Miami Dolphins.
