Who is the Buffalo Bills’ breakout candidate in 2025?
The Buffalo Bills entered a new era on offense in 2024. They had a more balanced approach, an improved offensive line play, and they limited costly mistakes.
The Bills were expected to take a step back, but thanks to an MVP season from Josh Allen, stellar playcalling from offensive coordinator Joe Brady, clean play from the offensive line, and a reliable running game, they were ahead of schedule.
And still, their offense will continue to evolve in 2025. One of the major young pieces that hasn’t fully blossomed yet for the Bills is their top draft pick from 2024, wide receiver Keon Coleman.
In Pro Football Focus’ list of breakout candidates for each team in 2025, they listed Coleman as the most likely to breakout for the Bills.
Coleman had just three games in 2024 where he had more than three catches and just four games with over six targets. In an “everybody eats” offense no one in particular was leaned upon too greatly, so numbers for the rookie can’t be expected to be through the roof. He did injure his wrist pretty significantly as well, missing four games after getting dinged up in Week 9.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane noted after the season that he was “a little disappointed” in Coleman for how he returned from injury.
Still, when healthy Coleman managed 556 receiving yards and proved he is capable of going up and making difficult grabs using his athleticism which was raved about coming out of Florida State. And, he showed he had some juice after the catch as well.
